DVD Issues with FREEBOX PLAYER Solved

Question

Hello,

I have internet through Free. I own the latest version (FREEBOX PLAYER and FREEBOX SERVER).
My problem is with playing DVDs.
I connected my Freebox Player via HDMI, and I could play my DVDs without any issues.
However, for the past few days, I can't play anything...
When I insert a DVD, "play the media" stays gray and I can't see the DVD.
I've tried several updates and resets.
STILL NOTHING....
Do you think the DVD + Blu-ray player in the Freebox Player is dead?
If that's not the case, is there a procedure to make the player work again?

Hi, the CPLs have nothing to do with it except for the Blu-ray interactivity.
It comes from the software (I explain, the .ini file allows the launch of the corresponding .exe file based on the type of media inserted) the problem comes from the fact that the .ini file has a script error depending on the versions. Some versions even had this issue following firmware updates that unfortunately modified this file to supposedly fix this "bug". You need to make a request to customer service through account management. They will respond to you within about 48 hours. Then they will contact you for a so-called series of tests^^ and then they will offer a replacement. Ask for a relay replacement, it avoids issues like "sorry we haven't received anything to date" and then bam, fees appear. (I speak from the knowledge of a friend to whom this happened!)

Ask the Freebox support service since no one else on the forum seems to know much about this Freebox. Otherwise, my Freebox DVD player isn't very good either.

For your information, the Freebox cannot play DivX.

Only DVDs and Blu-rays.

I'll explain my problem again:
when I put a DVD in my Freebox, I can't play it.

Hi,

You can try a hard reboot of the Player by pressing the small black button at the back.
Try with a second DVD, or even a Blu-ray, if your problem persists you need to request a replacement.

Hi,

I also have a problem with my player; when I play certain DVDs, I only get sound!!! And sometimes, I can't even eject them from the player.
I've called Free several times, they've changed the player twice, and I still have the same problem. I called them back, and now they say the problem is because I'm connected to the TV via the SCART plug!!!
I have my doubts, but since I can't verify it at the moment...

same problem apparently it's the console that's malfunctioning, the player reads DVDs very poorly, should be sent back in my opinion..

I have the same issue. I have to reboot the layer several times before it detects the DVD. Once detected, it works fine. It looks like a software bug.

I have the same problem, the Blu-rays work fine but the DVDs are impossible to read. I'm going to try a hard reboot.

This comes from the PLCs, you have an insufficient bandwidth. Reconnect your electrical connections by removing your extensions. Otherwise, use an Ethernet cable.

I have the same problem. When I put in the DVD, the "play disk" option remains gray. I’ve tried several DVDs and the same problem persists. I don't know why. I think it needs to be reported.

The 3244 from Free replaced my Freebox player within a few days after some live trials on the phone, because it's a recurring problem with this equipment... Already exchanged three times...

I found the solution to unplug the player with the DVD inside.
After restarting, it ejects it by itself and takes it back, and it works.
It works for the others until the next crash. Maybe until the next BD.
