my iPhone won't charge and won't turn on anymore Solved/Closed

Hello,
yesterday my iPhone turned off abruptly while I was scrolling the screen. It was at 20% charge. I plugged it in to charge but there was no sign of life. I connected it via USB but iTunes doesn’t recognize it.. and I tried using the power and home buttons (10 seconds and 20 seconds both together then the home button alone.. as they indicated in the forums) but there’s no sign of life. Knowing that my iPhone turns on for a few seconds when I charge it with the power cable but it cannot start and it turns off again at the Apple logo.. please help me..

I had the same issue; I thought it was my cable because when I plugged it into an outlet, it didn't respond, and when I connected it to my PC, it didn't turn on or charge. I pressed the home and power buttons for 10 seconds while it was plugged into the outlet, and it turned on, and now everything is fine.

Once your iPhone is back to life, remember to make a Backup of the iPhone

Exactly the same symptoms as dalys1. It was at 3/4 of the battery and was working perfectly, 30 minutes later, I take it out of my pocket and not a single sign of life.
I launch iTunes and connect it to my PC, which doesn't recognize it. When I try power + home for 10 seconds, at best I get the Apple logo for half a second, then nothing. It's as if it can't start anymore.
Aside from an answer on this forum, I think it will be a repair service...

I had the same problem. And now everything is fine, I plugged my iPhone into a high-power USB port (to a wall socket and not to a computer), and at the same time, I held down both the home and power buttons. It turned back on by itself, just like before. I think it was just a little bug, because my battery was over 50%!

Hello, I had the same problem. My iPhone only turns on with its charger and the battery goes from 100% to 10% to 50%, sometimes even to zero, and then it restarts. The USB ports on my computers are not sufficient to keep it running, so it's impossible to restore it (because I thought the problem came from the iPhone OS 3.1.2 that crashed, so it has no OS anymore). iTunes no longer detects it, so I did the “Home and Start” manipulation at the same time for 11 seconds, then kept holding the Home button just until iTunes detected the iPhone in restoration mode, and at the moment of installing the firmware, the iPhone shows a white screen and I don’t even have time to see the Apple logo before it shuts down. iTunes shows error 1601, so I presumed it was the battery. I ordered one on eBay for less than €10 and I should receive it Wednesday, 20/01/10.

To reset an iPhone when an application is unresponsive, for example, simply follow the procedure below:

* Press and hold the "Home" button for about 6 seconds, until the home screen appears.
* To reset the device, then press and hold the "Sleep" (top button) and "Home" buttons simultaneously for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I had the same problem.... It wouldn't charge anymore, neither on the power outlet nor via USB, and then..... Shame on me!!!..... I simply had some dirt that got stuck in the place where you plug it in to recharge. So stupid.... Well, it's fixed now.... Always check just in case.

I just tried the solution of pressing the on button and the round button for 20 seconds, the iPhone 4 restarted... tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, I will call Bouygues for phone insurance, you never know if it will do the same thing again!!! Good luck to all of you!!!!!!

Same problem as everyone else. Charged to 80%. Stops abruptly.
Connecting to power doesn't change anything. iTunes doesn't recognize it. Fixed by pressing 2 buttons START and HOME for 10 seconds...

For those for whom the two-button trick doesn't work, try pressing these two buttons for about ten seconds and then releasing them; you might be able to see the Apple logo. Thank you, it’s working again. Incomprehensible, due to the programming of my alarm, my iPhone 4 was no longer functioning. I did everything that was described above; I connected the phone to my computer while opening iTunes + I removed the SIM card + blew on the battery connection + pressed both buttons for a long time, independently and simultaneously, and miraculously the connection and battery charging started. What’s strange is that the battery was flat when it had about 20% left at the time of the problem; I hope it’s not the battery that is starting to fail.
