IPAD not charging anymore

Can you help me? My iPad won’t charge anymore. My charger works fine with the iPhone. 2016 iPad Air. It doesn’t make the little click when I plug it in.

    For me, the solution is quite simple:
    • just press and hold the home button.
    • then plug in the charging cable.
    • only after that can you release the home button.
