Hello,
I bought a Sony home theater DAV-DZ260/B a month ago, so I set it up (calibration, I connected an HDMI cable and a SCART cable) and everything was working very well, no problem playing DVDs, CDs, or even sound from the TV. I had adjusted it (DEC. MODE) for the different sound outputs. But now, for the past few days, I can’t change the sound; it only comes out of the front two speakers and the subwoofer, the center speaker and the two rear ones are silent (even though they all work correctly when I do sound tests).
I hope I’ve been clear enough lol. Thank you for helping me because I’m losing it ^^.

Hello, to get 5.1 with the PS3, it must be connected directly via optical to the home theater and HDMI to the TV, then select the optical cable for sound in the PS3 settings; otherwise, it will be 2.1 through HDMI!

On the other hand, for you Taz8974, I'm not so sure because all my connections were good and recently everything started working again without me changing anything. A technician from Sony contacted me following my issue and explained that the home theater sometimes memorizes certain codecs after being used and can get stuck. To solve the problem, he told me to turn the home theater off and on several times and try to set the outputs to DEC.MODE. But since my home theater was working again, I didn't have to do that, so I don't know if that could resolve your issue!!!

Hello, I also have a problem with my home theater but with the subwoofer.
I have read the manual 4 times and I still haven't found how to adjust it!!!
I can only modify it with dynamic bass and night mode. Are there other ways? -
Hello everyone,
I just bought the DAV-DZ260B but I have two questions:
1 - How do I adjust the bass? Even when I disable the dynamic bass option and activate night mode, the bass remains too much!
2 - How do I get the 5 speakers to work when I play mp3s via USB or connect a portable source (Jack Jack)
Thank you in advance,
Nunuux :)-
Hello, in fact you can't properly output the sound of an mp3 through all 5 speakers, your home theater will simulate a 5.1 from the 2.0 signal of the mp3 or audio CD, but the sound from the surround speakers will still remain very weak.

Hello
I have the same problem as you except that the center speaker and the two in the back have never worked...
My wiring is as follows:
PS3 >>> TV via HDMI
Home >>> TV via HDMI
Home >>> optical
So I don’t think it’s the wiring since the two in the front work correctly.
Maybe it’s a setting in the home theater, but having lost the manual, I can't find it...
If you could help me.
Thank you.-
Hello,
We are trying to install our Sony DAV DZ 260 home theater system on our Sony BRAVIA HDMI TV...
The system works with a simple CD, also with a DVD, but either the sound only comes through the TNT or only through CANALSAT but only on two speakers...
If you can advise us...
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
Patsy, I think it’s just a simple settings issue. Your home theater should be in movie or music mode, which corresponds to the sound outputs for DVDs and music. So, to have sound coming from all the speakers when you watch TV, change the output mode. Press the system menu on your remote, then scroll down with the arrow until you reach DEC.MODE. After that, press the central button and choose the RFD.MULTI mode, and normally the sound will come out of all your speakers. There you go, I hope it works!!!
