Sky accounting:import .ahc

Hello everyone,

I want to say that everything is in the title.

Here’s the problem: I installed Ciel Compta v.2008 on which I want to import the entries from the old version: Ciel Compta 2005. However, the latter exports files with the extension: .ahc while version 2008 doesn’t allow importing this format.

After numerous phone calls, I finally managed to make Ciel believe I had a support contract: they sent me the following procedure:
from Ciel Compta 2005 access the workstation, perform a re-indexing. Then from Compta 2008 click on "folder" "open" "old version".
Of course, this doesn’t work. Error message: missing a dll file: camkernel (unavailable online and on the install CD) + something else - I can’t remember what.
On the CD, there is a utility that updates Compta 2005 to facilitate the operation: this doesn’t solve the problem.

Many of us are facing this issue (see the numerous forums online) but until now, no one seems to have the solution.

If someone who has had the grace of Ciel's support service could inform us, it would be a great help.

Thank you for your responses.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.1

If you bought the software, it's up to Ciel to provide you with the solution to recover your data; for my part, after a registered letter (very polite) that I sent to the head office explaining the problem, I emailed my previous backup and Ciel returned it to me with the correct extension, allowing me to recover my accounting... good luck.

Hello, it seems that the issue of importing .ahc files into Ciel is still ongoing. I just bought Ciel 2015 with 30 days of free support. I called and the support told me that converting 2 accounting ahc files would cost me 110 euros (55 per file). I told them they must be mistaken, that I had free installation assistance for 30 days. No way. I'm waiting for a call from the manager and I'm getting ready to do like Belette: registered letter;
Very surprised by their concept of free.

Tired of waiting for 3 hours for the support manager to call me back, I called the sales service to report that their support service was unaware of their free assistance offer. He explained to me:
- that this offer is reserved for new customers. As an old customer, therefore, no support. They do treat existing customers well at Ciel. New customers, having no prior Ciel account, supposedly do not need file import. Surely there are never any customers from other accounting software switching to Ciel. However, nothing is specified about the free offer (nowhere does it indicate that it is reserved for new customers).
- that the conversion of .ahc files is a handling not included in the free assistance offer for use or setup. "Installation, setup, and use" seem to me to be rather generic terms that cover all help allowing the buyer of Ciel Accounting to use the software they purchased.
The offer does not exclude anything else except reimbursement for phone time.
The only "help received" was to advise me to install both Ciels on the same computer. However, Ciel 2005 is on a Windows 5 computer not compatible with Ciel 2015 (designed for Windows XP, 7-8...) and Ciel 2005 cannot be installed on Windows 8.
They asked me to scan the free offer. I am waiting.
Very disappointed.

I sent a message this morning at 11 am to remind them of the law because they are promoting a free service that turns out to be paid:
"Deceptive commercial practices can be punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of €37,500. Unintentional offense, constituted by recklessness or negligence, without requiring an intention to deceive. Article L. 121-1 of the Consumer Code defines these deceptive commercial practices. Article L. 121-1-1 of the Consumer Code describes situations that constitute presumptions of such practices. I invite you to particularly consult:
19° To describe a product or service as "free," "graciously," "at no cost," or other similar terms if the consumer must pay anything other than the unavoidable costs related to responding to the commercial practice and taking possession or delivery of the item;

Please send me a written quote if you insist on charging me for the conversion of .ahc files."

Of course, I received no response. I will therefore change forums and post on one dedicated to scams more related to the subject. Tomorrow, I will send a registered letter; they will have gained 24 hours and all of my anger. I should have listened to my accountant who encouraged me to switch to EBP to avoid all these file problems with unusable Ciel extensions without conversions.

Dear Sandrine,
I am sorry for the experience you had. Our support team tried to contact you today, without success, in order to find a solution to your situation.
A representative has been assigned to you and will attempt to reach you again by phone tomorrow morning.
I wish you a good evening,
Aurore

The Quality service of Ciel contacted me and resolved the issue, allowing me to retrieve data beyond the .ahc file. They even explained to me new functions of Ciel. It's a pity that I didn't have the same type of exchanges with the support or sales service. However, I am satisfied with the efficiency with which the Quality service resolved this inconvenience.
