Mio Moov 370 update

Hello,
I just tested the Mio Moov 370, it's decent in terms of maps, it offers coherent and fast routes, the Bluetooth hands-free connection is great, the call quality is good, the big problem is the speed traps!!! Indeed, what is pre-installed is completely outdated, it’s really shameful to advertise a free update when it doesn't exist, I think all owners of this GPS should stay in touch through this forum, if I have any news I will let you know

Yes, on the website you will find help. It works, there is no need to worry.
Launch your MioMore software, then go to "Custom CI" and follow this procedure.
INSTALLATION GUIDE MIO MOOV 330 - 370
Prerequisites
Make sure your computer is equipped with Winzip, Winrar, or another decompressing software if you are using OS X.
You will need this to decompress the files downloaded from alertegps.com.
Downloading the files
Log in to alertegps.com
Enter your username and password
Choose your plan, Basic or Premium
In the "Standalone GPS" section, select "Mio" > "Moov 330 or 370"
Download the files and save them in "My Documents"
Decompress the files using your decompression software. The folder
"My POIs" will then be created in "My Documents".
Transferring files
Connect your Mio to your PC
Launch the Mio More software on your PC
Click on "Custom CI"
On the "Source File" line, click on "Browse" and choose one of the csv files located in the "My POIs" folder
Click on "New Category" in "CI Category" and give the category
the same name as the file (Example: RF - Basic - or RF-120 - Premium)
Choose "Visual Alert" in "Warning Settings" then click on
"Browse" and select the corresponding bmp file for the csv file you just imported
Click on "Sound Alert" -> "Add". Then click on the icon representing a
yellow folder with an upward arrow (parent folder) until
it is grayed out. Double-click on "My Computer" then on "Removable Disk" (the one corresponding to your Mio) then on "Mio" and finally on "POIs".
Then select the file "SafetyCam.wav" and click on "Open"
Finally, click on "Add to Device"
Repeat the steps for each CI category.

Personally, I am tempted by this GPS but I'm hesitant!

I want a GPS that is:
- Powerful (processor)
- Fast in satellite search execution
- That the TMC is effective
- And above all, that it is compatible with the Athermic windscreen of my 307.

Is this the case with this model?

Thank you for your response, but after much reflection and research, I preferred to take a TomTom New XL Europe 31, with the TMC antenna.
The reason?! TomTom is still the leader in the market, so quality goes without saying.

I also just bought a Moov 370. Regarding the radars, it’s true they are outdated. I tried to do a free update since I just bought it, but it's impossible.

I just called this company from Brun and I have some bad news
their free update means that the radars are already installed in the map for a year from the date of purchase, then they disappear and you have to pay

I just acquired a MIO MOOV 370 and I would like to install mobile speed cameras, but as has already been mentioned, I get a warning not to exceed 12,000 POIs. Hello, indeed regarding the maps, not everything is necessarily up to date; if we want to update, it's paid, but I think we should not rush because the product is not old, Mio is not going to offer an updated map in relation to the modifications recently made to the road network.

THIS GPS IS NOT UP TO PAR. = No I just bought it (it's my first GPS) and I set off right away to Italy where I'm currently driving. The GPS has been helpful but has also caused some scares. For example: making me turn into streets that don't exist, asking me to "make a U-turn carefully" on a highway ramp where it got confused (mixing up two parallel lanes!!!), directing me to the Carrefour supermarket in Grenoble on the highway (yes, really), sending me into one-way streets against traffic; I’m passing through outdated maps (roundabouts) and of course, the main issue, the speed cameras (1 out of 2 detected or warned). We are far from the mark. I regret it because the device is really fast and nice, but I'm going to file a complaint with my store (Fnac) for misleading information (the salesperson told me that "POI Radar = No" on the label in the aisle meant that a radar map update was needed (and I believed it). I hope to return from Italy without incident. Happy Holidays to you all.

I totally agree with you. It's shameful to sell a GPS with pre-installed speed cameras and when you call MIO they tell you that you have to subscribe because they are not updated!... Moreover, Mio Moov 370 Europe does not indicate the speed limits on a route (for example, a road limited to 90 km/h goes down to a limit of 70 and then 30.) no beep and no signal if you exceed the speed... You need to initially indicate the speed not to be exceeded!!!!

Hello everyone... Thank you for the information, I bought the Mio 370 Europe... after browsing this forum I got some info to update the radars on alertegps.com... I finally managed to install everything but my GPS is lagging, lagging, lagging!!! I removed the ZD RFR and still it lags even more... To top it off, I removed the RF since those are easily identifiable, I only kept the mobile radars that I consider the most dangerous... After all these manipulations, my GPS when calculating a route only progresses to 96-98% and then it freezes... What can I do to reach 100% so I can finally use it fully and without bugs!!!! What's the point of buying a GPS if we can only update a part of the radars!!!! Hello,  I wanted to update the radar database of my Mio 370 with the TomTomax files converted to .csv format (using the POIEdit software). But when I launch the procedure from Mio Desktop, it does not load the files. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?  I also tried to load the Alertegps database, but Mio Desktop crashed: message: "unable to open/analyze the .csv file - check that it is not corrupted or used by another application." After checking, I was told that it is because the Alertegps file is too large (over 12,000). I don’t know what to do anymore.  I turned to the Warning-radars files, but on one hand, there are only fixed radars and on top of that, I don’t know their update frequency.  Does anyone have solutions to my different problems or questions?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Entirely true, the radar map is outdated (by at least 2 years), after a direct phone call to Mio, it was confirmed to me that the update costs 49 euros. It's robbery... I even filed a complaint on the Auchan website because that's where I bought it... I'm waiting for their response.

Hi! I personally bought this GPS at the start of the year, and Mio was running a promotion at that time, namely €30 refunded, and the 2009 update was free. I received the email for the available update this morning. I tried to do it with Mio More as they say, but it bugs every time. I have the 1.2GB iso file on my hard drive, but I can't use it despite having the activation key as well. Has anyone else had this update issue? See you later Olivier

I easily managed to load the speed cameras into this GPS, but now, it no longer works after less than a year of use.  As for the speed cameras, everything is mentioned on the "AlerteGPS" website; however, you need to have some basic computer knowledge and one or more ".Wav" sound files on hand.  The only problem is that the preloaded speed cameras are duplicates..  On the other hand, unlike my TomTom, this GPS indicates "twisted" or "long" routes even after setting the routing preferences; moreover, when I'm driving, the speed cameras on the nearby roads are detected and beep as well!   Mio??  Never again!

A poisoned gift, two months ago my wife gave me this lovely piece of junk, the Mio Moov 370, and here I am in a scam with no software update since 2008 for a 2009 purchase, great follow-up. At the start of our vacation, I programmed the gadget to take us to Puy-de-Dôme, we start down the street and this thing tells us to turn back, which is serious when you know I live in a dead end. On the one hand, you can only choose one free update, meaning: either France or another country, but not all the countries in Europe! Moreover, since the free update that Mio offers us is from 2008, it hasn’t added anything new to my maps given that my Mio Moov 370 already had the 2008 data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
