Mio Moov 370 update

Hello,
I just tested the Mio Moov 370, it's decent in terms of maps, it offers coherent and fast routes, the Bluetooth hands-free connection is great, the call quality is good, the big problem is the speed traps!!! Indeed, what is pre-installed is completely outdated, it’s really shameful to advertise a free update when it doesn't exist, I think all owners of this GPS should stay in touch through this forum, if I have any news I will let you know
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Yes, on the website you will find help. It works, there is no need to worry.
Launch your MioMore software, then go to "Custom CI" and follow this procedure.
INSTALLATION GUIDE MIO MOOV 330 - 370
Prerequisites
Make sure your computer is equipped with Winzip, Winrar, or another decompressing software if you are using OS X.
You will need this to decompress the files downloaded from alertegps.com.
Downloading the files
Log in to alertegps.com
Enter your username and password
Choose your plan, Basic or Premium
In the "Standalone GPS" section, select "Mio" > "Moov 330 or 370"
Download the files and save them in "My Documents"
Decompress the files using your decompression software. The folder
"My POIs" will then be created in "My Documents".
Transferring files
Connect your Mio to your PC
Launch the Mio More software on your PC
Click on "Custom CI"
On the "Source File" line, click on "Browse" and choose one of the csv files located in the "My POIs" folder
Click on "New Category" in "CI Category" and give the category
the same name as the file (Example: RF - Basic - or RF-120 - Premium)
Choose "Visual Alert" in "Warning Settings" then click on
"Browse" and select the corresponding bmp file for the csv file you just imported
Click on "Sound Alert" -> "Add". Then click on the icon representing a
yellow folder with an upward arrow (parent folder) until
it is grayed out. Double-click on "My Computer" then on "Removable Disk" (the one corresponding to your Mio) then on "Mio" and finally on "POIs".
Then select the file "SafetyCam.wav" and click on "Open"
Finally, click on "Add to Device"
Repeat the steps for each CI category.

Hello, I updated the radar data on my Mio Moov 370 by downloading the files from alertegps.com and transferring them to the Mio following your instructions. The operation was successful, but the Mio indicates that I have 31,000 Navpix and CI installed, and the limit is 12,000, and exceeding this limit may affect the performance of the Mio.
Please let me know if the Mio will work properly, and if not, what should I do?

Good evening,
I don't know if it's me you're addressing, but for my part, I've only added the RF and the RM. I disabled the CI that didn't seem useful to me, and in the end, it seems correct; it didn't crash!

Hello, thank you for all your responses. I downloaded the RF and RM from alertegps.com and it works, but should I delete the radars that came pre-installed by Mio that duplicate those I downloaded?
Best regards, mfll57

Hi Roro, how do you select the points you want because right now it tells me it's going to put 31,000 points and only 12,000 are accepted. I only put the RF and RM files, not even the ZD.
Thanks for your response if you have the time of course :)

Hello,
I have acquired a Mio Moov 370 and I am 'like many, disappointed with Mio's paid updates...
I have followed your instructions, but I am stuck at:
Launch the Mio More software on your PC
Click on "Custom CI"

I can't find this tab in the Mio More window, so if you could give me a little private lesson on how to set it up, that would be nice.
P.S. My Moov 370 does not indicate the permanent speed limit like the 320, is this normal and if so, can we remedy it?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response, but after much reflection and research, I preferred to take a TomTom New XL Europe 31, with the TMC antenna.
The reason?! TomTom is still the leader in the market, so quality goes without saying.

Hello,

Wise decision, you are absolutely right, I regret this purchase, the product is not bad but the manufacturer doesn't care about us for support, CIAO...

Salut, you unlock your GPS, you install IGO8 and it works perfectly on mioskins (retouxloic@neuf.fr).

Hello
I just called this company from Brun and I have some bad news
their free update means that the radars are already installed in the map for a year from the date of purchase, then they disappear and you have to pay
. In short, a big scam. I do not recommend it. Any solutions to ensure that our radars do not escape from this crappy box are welcome. Thanks to everyone.

don't forget to open an account on the site I just provided
you transfer the file of the different radars and its icon there I hope to have helped a lot of people who are in my situation.

To indicate the speed, you need to download the other version, which seems to be paid. Speed and direction of the radar.

No, it's fine, it's not bugging
Otherwise, I wanted to know what the SD slot is for? Can we put updates on an SD card and put it in the GPS??? Will it work?

Hi
I just bought a Mio Moov 370 too, and I got tricked on the radar updates
where are you at?

Hi there.
I only see one solution, to wait for a certain number of people to buy this GPS and for things to change a bit. Although I find it abnormal, I am willing to pay for a real update, but according to those who have done it, it doesn't seem great! Plus, it's relatively expensive. It's a good device, but I have a vague feeling that the after-sales service is not taking us seriously. But anyway, I won't give up!

Yes, but it's disgusting. What can we do?

Hello,
go to the Mioskin website, download Csv2Asc, read the instructions, download the radar database from the Miojaco website for free and install it in the GPS, that's it!!.
See you!

Hello,
At the risk of sounding like a fool, I would like to tell you that based on your advice (thank you!), I downloaded CSV2 ASC but I couldn't find the radar database for the Mio 370 on Miojaco. If you could give a little more explanation to a software idiot, thank you.

Thanks a lot

Hello everyone!

Personally, I am tempted by this GPS but I'm hesitant!

I want a GPS that is:
- Powerful (processor)
- Fast in satellite search execution
- That the TMC is effective
- And above all, that it is compatible with the Athermic windscreen of my 307.

Is this the case with this model?

Thanks in advance.

lol the noob that I am, I forgot the GPS reference in question: Mio MOOV 370 Europe TMC

Hello,

the Mio is fast, the pross. is not bad and the TMC is effective, there must be better, more expensive options, but the issue is the speed cameras, compare it with Tom-Tom!

Hi Marin
I also just bought a Moov 370. Regarding the radars, it’s true they are outdated. I tried to do a free update since I just bought it, but it's impossible.
I tried to activate the product with the key, but I can’t do it. I called and they told me there were no free updates and that there is no activation key. In short, it’s a scam. If you have any information, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

Hello, already the site is all in English and all the pages are too. There hasn't been an update for the year 2008; you'll have to wait until 2009.

on this site, we can do free updates every month by taking the basic plan

Good evening Mussdz,

It's very nice of you to provide the address, have you tried transferring the downloaded file into the Mio Moov 370 folder?
I'm not very savvy, but the "Poi" files don't seem identical, what steps should I take to make the update work? Thank you for enlightening us!
0
mussdz

Ah yes, don't worry, you can also delete them so you won't lose anything. Try some out and keep me posted. I'm not driving much, given the price of diesel, buddy. Oops!!!

Well, thank you a thousand times!
Everything went well, it's in the bag, tomorrow I'll give it a try and I'll let you know the result, thanks again, that's cool!

Hello everyone,
I need to inform Mussdz that the procedure he indicated to me works wonderfully, and that anyone who wants to update the radar alerts on their Mio-Moov 370 can do so with complete confidence; the procedure is clearly outlined by our friend Mussdz in this same discussion.

Does this program also indicate speed limits?

Ok thanks, do you think it will be available (for free) legally?

I don't think so.

Hi everyone

I just acquired a MIO MOOV 370 and I would like to install mobile speed cameras, but as has already been mentioned, I get a warning not to exceed 12,000 POIs. I see that some of you have already tried exceeding this limit. Did it slow down the GPS? Is there any risk? No bugs or rebooting or anything like that???

THANK YOU in advance

mussdz

try anyway, you can easily delete them. but apparently there's no problem for your routing box to bug.

Hello,

I would like to know if you managed to update the MAPS!!! Because it doesn't know about the latest work, like a blocked highway entrance, roundabouts, etc.... I have the impression that it costs money, which is pretty crazy!

I also have a Mio Moov 370 and I'm not very happy with it. First of all, the updates are paid, whether for maps or speed cameras (for speed cameras, I recommend checking navx.com which is excellent even though it's paid). I travel quite a bit and the GPS is not very stable; it sometimes restarts for no reason (during a 1000 km trip, it restarted 5 times). Sometimes, when I go into any menu, it lags. A family member got a TomTom GPS and I was surprised by the navigation speed and the options it offered (I paid more for my Mio than he did for his TomTom!) Plus, the map and speed camera updates are free. So I'm definitely planning to get rid of my Mio to buy a TomTom, which seems to be cheaper and of better quality!

Good evening Ted
It is obvious and even recommended to buy a TomTom. Personally, I gave up the Mio Moov for the TomTom XL Live IQ Routes, and I only regret one thing: not having done it sooner. Follow my advice, and you'll see it has nothing to do with Mio.
