Hello,
I want to create a phone directory in Office to print it later, but I'm not quite sure how to do it.
I think I will do it in Word, but I'm looking for how to put the corresponding letter on the side of the page.
The model I want would be like
________________________________
Name Address Number A |
________________________________|
________________________________
Name Address Number |
B |
________________________________|
But I don't see how to automatically place the letter on the side.
Could you help me?
Thank you

Here's how I proceeded:
* File/Page Layout/Paper/Paper Size/A5.
* File/Page Layout/Margins/ Left 2cm; Right 0.5cm; Top 1.25cm; Bottom 1.5cm.
* Word table with 4 columns, the last one intended to create an alphabetical index after cutting.
* Table Properties/Row/ uncheck the option "Allow row to break across pages..." and for row 1 check the option "Repeat header row on each page...".
* Table Properties/Cell/ check "Vertical Alignment/Centre".
* Table Properties/Cell/Options/ keep the default options: "Same as ..." and "Link to ..." remain checked, "fit to text" remains unchecked.
Use:
* Even if the first page, index A, is not filled in, proceed to page 2, index B, to enter names starting with B.
* If multiple pages are needed for names starting with B, keep the index B only for the first of them.
* For the letters XYZ, they can be placed on a single tab, changing the font and character size.
* This example is designed for single-sided printing, portrait orientation, stapled on the left.
I remain at your disposal.
