Hello,
this question may be silly especially for those who know this, but what does it mean to stick to the root?

Hello,
Hard drives organize their data in folders that nest within one another.
So: "C:/system/Xp/machin.txt" means that the file "machin.txt" is stored in the folder "Xp," which is stored in the folder "system," which is on the C drive.
Saving something at the root of the drive is like moving your file "machin.txt" directly under C without going through folders and subfolders; in our case, that would be "C:/machin.txt."
There you go...
