Hello,
Since I switched to Microsoft Office (Outlook) 2007, I can no longer send messages using an email account (Account A) that does not provide an outgoing server (SMTP). For this account, I use the outgoing server from a second account (Account B). Therefore, I use pop3 and smtp referring to two different servers, and I use the Additional settings... / "Outgoing server" tab / Checked box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" / Checked box "Log on using" ... and there I enter my Username and Password for my Account B.
Here is the error message Outlook gives me:
" ! The task " ###@###.### - Sending " reported an error (0x800CC80) : " None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server. " "
Two clarifications:
- With exactly the same configuration parameters on another computer using Microsoft Office (Outlook) 2003, I can send an email. (However, I do not use the same internet security suite on this second computer, Kaspersky 7.0 on the computer concerned by the problem. However, if I disable (only disable, I do not uninstall it) the said security suite, the problem remains)
- I have no problem sending messages with my Account B on the same computer that has issues with Account A, and this using the same outgoing server settings (however, I do not have to go through additional settings in this case).
Thus, it seems to me that this is a problem with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 primarily related to authentication.
My problem is very similar to another issue discussed in this forum previously ( http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich 3576440 probleme envoi de mail depuis l etranger ), however, when I try the final solution proposed, I manage to no longer have an error message when I use the "Test Account Settings..." function, but I still cannot send a message with my Account A
Thank you.
Fred

Ahaha, should have looked a little further and sorted through the answers proposed on other forums...
The problem is solved! How?
By going to
>Tools
>Account settings
>double click on the account that has the issue
>additional settings
>outgoing server
>Connect to the outgoing mail server before sending mail...
It seems so obvious...
Thank goodness users help each other on forums like this. Neither Microsoft nor Numéricable had the solution...
Cheers
