The PDS file produced by Cyberlink is not a video. It is an XML file that describes all the information from the edit you made with your video. This file allows you to reopen your project to modify it. It is from this file, using the "produce" command, that you create your final video, which will be in the format you defined (avi or mpeg).
If you really want it in wmv, you will need to convert this video with a conversion software like SUPER, for example. I forgot to mention that I also use this software, but you might have guessed it.
