The CTG file on Canon devices simply tells you the content of photos or videos by folder. They are not image or video files. To find your video, check the existing folders on your memory card; it's definitely in there (I've experienced this with photos).

Thank you very much Benny! I had many photos from a trip on the Way of Saint James to Santiago de Compostela that came out in .CTG format and I couldn't read them in this format or save them on my computer! You clarified what this format is and I was able to find them on my external memory card in an unusual folder! Yay!!! MLM

Hello everyone,
Indeed, I have a CANON device and I wanted to test an old SD card. I noticed the new extension .CTG (???) and I can't read these files.
For your information, the photos have already been copied to an external hard drive.
I'm not an expert in file extensions (JPEG, CTG,...) and if I understood correctly, these are not image or video files. I could delete them then.
