Printer not recognized

Hello everyone.

I'm sending out an SOS.

Until a few days ago, I was using a XEROX Phaser 6130N (color) printer with a PC running W10, which was working perfectly well.

Yesterday, I had some prints to make, and I noticed that my printer is no longer recognized.
I checked the list, and next to my printer, it says:
Driver unavailable.

Knowing that I haven't made any modifications or updates on my part.
I tried to search for a driver online, but the printer is nearly 20 years old, and I couldn't find anything, not even on the manufacturer's site.
When I go to the device manager, clicking on my printer, it tells me that this device is working properly, and there’s no question mark in front of it.
I tried to update the drivers, but nothing abnormal for the printer, and nothing improved.
I tested another USB cable, no better.
I restarted the PC X times, nothing improved either.

After several hours of research and testing, I thought about restoring my PC to an earlier date.
I saw that there had been an update 2 days prior. Unfortunately, I couldn't uninstall it.
So I did the restoration, which took me a good 2 hours, and at that moment, upon rebooting the PC, the message:
driver unavailable had disappeared.
I thought: great, it's because of that last update.
I blocked my updates, but this morning, upon re-testing, that message appeared again even though there hadn't been any new updates since last night's restoration.

How can this phenomenon be explained?
Can we be sure that it's my printer and not the PC (USB port) that is causing the problem?
I tested all USB ports, and same result.

I wanted to install the printer on a PC running XP, but there’s no driver to indicate either.

Is there any way to find a driver for W8 or W10 (I think they are the same), online, for example, assuming that it's the one causing the problem?

But why suddenly, without doing or installing anything on my PC in the meantime?

I admit I don't understand.

Thank you to those who will read this.

Hope to see you soon.

PS: I would be bothered to have to throw away this printer, as I still have a lot of toners !!!!! of all colors.
I didn't receive a driver CD with this printer bought second-hand at least 10 years ago.

    Hello,

There is no evidence that it is not faulty.

The Windows 8 driver is supposed to work although it is ambiguous (32 bits) and there are several 6130 models; we don't know if the drivers are common.

    Good evening.
    Thank you for this response.
So you say that the printer could be out of order.
Therefore, this would be the reason why it says: Driver unavailable.

    A possibility then.

    Thank you anyway.
