Hello everyone,

My HP Deskjet 1050A J1410 series A printer is inactive every time I turn on my PC running Windows 11. I have to run the "HP Print and Scan Doctor" utility for it to work again.

I suspect a Windows update because I didn't have this problem at first.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you very much

Nat

    Hello ....

I suggest you properly uninstall this printer using Revo Uninstaller ► See this link

If you are not familiar with this tool, take the time to read its easy operating mode on the link above

Restart the PC and do a new installation from the W11 control panel as it automatically recognizes this printer

    See the procedure below

✅Open the Windows 10 control panel

    ✅Click on Devices and Printers

✅Click on Add a printer (2nd line at the top right)

✅Click on The printer that I want isn't listed

✅Check the last small box at the bottom then▶️ Next Leave the top box checked ▶️ Next

✅Click on Windows Update ▶️ Let the machine search for compatible printers ...Note that this may take a few minutes depending on the load of the Microsoft server

✅In the window that opens ▶️ Left column scroll down to find the brand HP

    ✅Highlight the printer HP Deskjet 1050A J410

✅Next to start the printer installation and follow the installation process

    ✳️See the screen image below

See you for the result obtained...if there is a problem come back here

    Cheers

Thanks for your reply, I'll give it a try. It's true that I installed it via the exe and not through Windows, so I'll test it out and let you know.

      Have a good Sunday.

      Hello,

I reinstalled via Windows and changed my scanning utility, as the HP one works the first time and then requires the "doctor" every time afterwards.

With the new scanning utility, there's no more problem.

Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Say hello, please, or thank you, that's good too ;-)

It's an app from the Microsoft Store "Scanner - Fast and Easy Document Scanning"

      Good evening

    Hi

What do you mean by inactive? Where do you see that?

How is it connected to the PC? (Wifi? Usb? Other?)

My printer is also inactive if I don't submit any prints.

      thank you for the response,

      I was lacking precision :-)

actually, when I try to scan using the HP tool, it says printer not found.

      connection via USB cable.

      have a good Sunday
