Hello, following a requested update that was carried out on my Samsung A16, I am now unable to fully turn it off; I no longer have access to that option, it goes into sleep mode but is not turned off... Thank you for your help, best regards

Hello
Swipe down from the top right corner. You should see the M/A button at the top right, below the icons indicating the smartphone's status.
What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello,
If you can't fully turn off your Galaxy A16 after an update, it may be due to a software issue or an error during the update process. It might be helpful to perform a hardware reset... https://www.hardreset.info/fr/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-a16-5g/
Hello,
No... it seems to correspond more to the explanation given by Pierr10!
There is no need to reset the mobile... it's "simply" the reassignment of the side button following the update!
Personally, I had also wondered... The side button after the update is assigned to an AI function... (And so the shutdown happens as described...)
Since I don't use this gadget, I did some digging... and saw that in the settings, it's possible to change the function of the side button... and to restore the "usual" display with the options (shutdown, restart, etc...)
Hello,
Indeed, the function of the Power button has been changed. I don't know if it's on all smartphones or just on Samsung with One UI 7.
It is documented in the settings:
Settings > Advanced features > Side key > How to turn off your phone
----------------------------
To regain the shutdown function with a long press:
When in the Side key sub-menu, click on Long press:
3 options are provided; the 3rd is Power off menu
