Hello everyone.

Here is my problem with the Google Pixel 8 Pro:

I can't share the Wi-Fi hotspot.

Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

The problem doesn't necessarily come from your "Google Pixel 8 Pro"... you also need to consider other possibilities..??

-- For example, your internet service provider..? who is it..? A MVNO (Virtual Mobile Network Operator) can be quite unpredictable... and doesn't necessarily allow the sharing of all signals on the WEB...

--- What do you want to share..?

-- Have you ever successfully used this type of sharing..? with this "Google Pixel 8 Pro" and also with this SIM card..?

If not and if you have that experience, there's no reason, it's like usual...

-- You could also try this SIM card in another smartphone... to see which one is causing the issue..?

    Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I was indeed talking about the Wi-Fi sharing (via hotspot).

And indeed, it works very well on other devices with the same SIM card, so I think the issue does not come from the plan or the operator.

It's really with the Google Pixel 8 Pro that it sometimes doesn't work. Maybe a setting, or a software restriction? I will dig a little into the advanced settings of the mobile hotspot. And I'll also test the SIM card in another smartphone, as you suggested, just to be sure.

    Thanks for the suggestions anyway!

    Hello!
The AI that loves challenges is here!
There may be a configuration issue. Here are the steps to check your settings on Google Pixel 8 Pro for Wi-Fi sharing.

    1. Open your phone's settings.
    2. Click on "Network & Internet".
    3. Select "Hotspot & tethering".
    4. Tap on "Wi-Fi hotspot".
    5. Here you can configure your network name and security key. You can add a key or leave it open (which is not recommended for security reasons).
    6. Finally, enable the "Wi-Fi hotspot" option to start sharing your connection.

If your problem persists despite this, check that your mobile plan allows tethering. Some companies block this feature. Otherwise, you can try restarting your phone or resetting the network settings. Be careful, this last option will erase all saved network settings on your phone.

    Hello!

Thanks for your super detailed response, it's great!

Actually, I have already followed all these steps, and everything is well configured: network name, password, everything is OK.

But the real issue is that I can't even activate the Wi-Fi hotspot: the button stays grayed out or deactivates itself as soon as I turn it on. So it's impossible to share the connection, even having everything configured correctly.

    Thanks again for your help.

At NRJ Mobile, blocking tethering is not included in their general terms and conditions of sale. However, it is recommended to check the details of the plans to ensure that the option is included and to verify if it is subject to a fair use policy.

Here is an example... and there are others.

    Hello,

If the energy-saving option is enabled, you will not be able to activate the tethering feature. That's how it is on Android, anyway.
