Connecting iPhone 16 to PC

Hello everyone,

I recently bought an iPhone 16 for my professional activities. However, when I tried to share the internet connection from the iPhone to my PC, what I feared happened—no way to connect! I thought that the iPhone's band might not be supported by the PC (5GHz vs. 2.4 GHz), but there is an option on the iPhone called "maximize compatibility." I activated it, but it didn't help: the PC detects the network, tries to connect (spinning for several seconds), and ultimately displays "we couldn't connect to this network," even though it is showing up and the signal is very good! I reset the network settings on the iPhone, as well as the network cards and drivers on the PC. Of course, it didn’t help.

Apparently, it can also be done via Bluetooth or USB cable, but I can't find the corresponding settings on my PC.

For your information, my ASUS PC:

Processor: Intel R Pentium R Silver N 5000 CPU 1.10 GHz 64 bits

Windows 10 22H2 from 2020

I tried to upgrade to Windows 11 today, but I'm not great with computers, and it seems my PC isn't quite on board... too many things to install...

As for the iPhone, well... it's an iPhone 16 running iOS 18.3.1

Usually, with Android, I never had issues connecting to a hotspot from my PC; my partner also has an iPhone (a 12, I think), and the PC connects to her hotspot.

I don't understand much and it feels like this problem is unsolvable, but I believe in you!

Thank you in advance for your help, and if you have any solutions for me, please try not to use too much technical jargon, otherwise I probably won't understand a thing ????‍????!

    Hello Georges,

    Thank you, unfortunately my problem concerns the internet tethering. That is to say, my devices are unable to connect to my phone's network via Wi-Fi. My phone serves as my internet box, it's the source of Wi-Fi for my computer, TV, etc... However, with the iPhone, everything is blocked; the devices can find the network, it is visible and strong, but none can connect to it.

    Hello,

    USB tethering is straightforward; it happens automatically when activated on the smartphone, while Bluetooth is a bit more complicated.

    As for Wi-Fi, you need to check the possible settings on the iPhone regarding that, I don’t know anything about it, especially the type of WPA key.

    And there you go....

    But goodness, how annoying line spacing is!!
