Gimp Cloning

Solved

Hello,

I have an issue with Gimp. When I try to use the clone tool, instead of copying the color I've selected onto a part of the drawing (Ctrl+click), it turns white as if I were using the eraser or the brush. It's strange because I have no problem on my computer, and I only have this issue on my friend's computer, to whom I'm trying to give advice on how to use Gimp. I reinstalled Gimp but it didn't help. How can I fix this issue? Thank you. Michel

Hello!

The issue may stem from the settings of the cloning tool mode on your friend's computer. To check that, open the cloning tool and look in its options (usually in a window at the bottom of the screen). There should be an option labeled 'Mode' or 'Merge Mode'. Make sure it's set to 'Normal' and not 'Erase' or 'Delete'. If it's not, change the mode and try cloning something again; that should solve the problem.

This response seems quite plausible to me. I will quickly give it a try.

Thank you very much.
