How to rejoin my private group on messenger
cathou -
Hello, for a few years now, my granddaughter, as the administrator, has created a private group for my family photos with my children and grandchildren. From the start, I have been a member. Unfortunately, I have left this group several times because one of my grandchildren was posting articles that had nothing to do with our family, and I told him so. The problem is that two weeks ago, when I wanted to see the birthday photos of one of my children that he had published, I clicked from my PC on Messenger and saw that the group no longer appeared. I asked my wife, who is a member. She clicked on Messenger on her phone, and the group was indeed there, along with the photos I was able to see thanks to her. I inquired with my granddaughter who created this group, and she told me that I am still a member but that I will not be able to see my photos for a maximum of 87 days since I have left several times. She saw this on a forum. Is this true? Is there no way to recover it sooner? Thank you for your help.

To regain access to your private group on Messenger, your granddaughter, as the administrator, needs to re-invite you to the group. If she is having trouble doing so, make sure you haven't blocked the group's notifications or some members of the group, as this could prevent the invitation from going through. As for the 87 days mentioned by your granddaughter, it seems she misunderstood: this time frame concerns the permanent deletion of a account's data after deactivation. In your situation, it's the invitation to the group that you need to accept.
Good evening, thank you for your response. I just sent a message to my granddaughter and told her to send an invitation to my husband. The problem is that I just saw that he is still part of the group, so will this work? I will keep you updated.
I wanted to add that I had re-invited my husband to the group 3 weeks ago, but upon searching, he never received the invitation and was added to the group anyway.
