Tone-free call

Hello,

I’m here because I couldn't find an answer elsewhere and I'm looking for one here. To be brief, I’m trying to understand why when I call someone on their French landline, there is no tone with my mobile (it's not a blockage because it rings twice before, right?); when I call another number, it rings. What does this mean?

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 100.0.4896.127

Hi,
To confirm, but I think it's coming from his operator who doesn't send the default return tone for ringing, the famous ringback tone, he can at least configure a personal one.

I'm not sure, because I tried it with the landline, it works. It's still not my phone that's malfunctioning at this level... it's a funny kind of problem.

I don't know,
it might be selective depending on the number or the calling operator, the tone is sent or not.
What is certain is that you can't do anything about it,
it’s either the operators among themselves or the configuration of the recipient.
We agree that the call goes through, right?

No, it's not selective because it happened after making a first call. When I called, I had a dial tone and then nothing, while the person didn't change any settings since they weren't available to answer. I agree that it connects, but only with the landline, not with the mobile.

The call is not going through from the mobile?
You should have started by explaining that....

It's not that it doesn't lead anywhere, it's that there's no tonality. Not having tonality amounts to saying that it doesn't lead anywhere, right?
