Hello
For some time now, I've been getting the "googletagmanager" pop-up when starting my PC.
(Windows 10 Pro 64bit version 21H2, Kaspersky IS 21.3.10 updated, Firefox browser 98)
I have the choice between YES and NO. Whether I click on one or the other, the window disappears, and there doesn't seem to be any issues; Windows, Firefox, and Google are working fine... Kaspersky IS doesn't detect anything.
What does that mean?
What should I do?
Thanks in advance for your opinions/solutions!
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 98.0

Hello,
We will start with a PC diagnosis:
Read the entire procedure before posting reports
The reports FRST.txt and Addition.txt are expected
All reports must be hosted on https://security-x.fr/up/ and you must provide the obtained links in your response
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--> The SmartScreen filter may trigger an alert. Click on Actions or More Information then click Run anyway
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--> Download the FRST version of Farbar, compatible with your system and save the file on your Desktop
--> For a 32-bit system
--> For a 64-bit system
How to know which version 32-bit or 64-bit is running on my system?
--> Wait until your browser offers you the download to save, without clicking anywhere, especially not on the sponsors of the page.
--> Close all applications, including your browser
--> Double-click on FRST.exe and click Yes to accept the Disclaimer
--> Under Vista, Windows 7 / 8 and 10, you need to launch the file by right-clicking -> Run as administrator
--> Wait until it indicates The tool is ready to use
--> On the main menu, click on Scan and wait during the scan
--> At the end of the scan, the reports FRST.txt and Addition.txt are created. Post these reports in your next response.
--> The reports are saved in the same location as the tool and under C:\FRST\Logs

Thank you for your response and the help offered!
I followed the procedure, hoping I didn't forget anything... (I didn't get the indication "The tool is ready to operate"... )
Below are the two links for the reports:

@ to be continued!
PS: what is this script message? An infection, a virus? How do you "catch" that?

No infection. We are going to clean up some obsolete files:
--> Copy what is here: https://textup.fr/618012Sz from start:: to end:: (without pasting it anywhere)
--> Open FRST (or FRST64) as administrator and click on Fix
If FRST seems to freeze or is not responding, let it run
--> The PC will restart
--> A fixlog file is created in the same location as FRST, post it like the other reports
--> Let me know if you still have the problem.

Here is the link for the fixlog file:
https://up.security-x.fr/file.php?h=R41260bb431a5a2370010cb7c8fddbde3
Upon rebooting, I didn't receive the script error message...
Apparently, it's all good, but I will confirm after several reboots...
Thank you again!

OK, you had scheduled tasks and startup files without targets, so Windows couldn't find the destination file.
In any case, your PC is clean ;-)
To finish:
To automatically remove all files/folders created by FRST and the tool itself, rename FRST/FRST64.exe to uninstall.exe and run it.
The procedure requires a restart.
Good luck :-)

Damn, damn, damn!!! ????
The message came back!
It's here again this morning (the same one)
Yet I hadn't seen it again...
What more should be done?
Thank you

I wonder if it might be due to your modified HOSTS file.
Try this:
If you deleted it, download FRST 64 bits
--> Copy what is below from start:: to end:: (without pasting it anywhere)
start::
closeprocesses:
createrestorepoint:
cmd: copy C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts C:\Users\melom
hosts:
emptytemp:
end::
--> Open FRST (or FRST64) as an administrator and click on Fix
--> A fixlog file is created in the same location as FRST, post it

Hello,
The HOSTS file is generally browser-independent while the error is obviously related to starting Internet Explorer.
We can potentially hide the issue by preventing IE from executing scripts or by blocking IE entirely through its firewall. We can also try to locate the intruder in terms of adware using Process Explorer.

But I'm waiting for a few more restarts to be sure!!!
I hadn't seen your additional message from 19/03 at 9:49 AM... I want to clarify that I don't use Internet Explorer (only FireFox and Google Chrome, sometimes Opera)
Thank you!

Restart a FRST scan and post the new reports, then we will check if it's a program that launches with Windows that has a problem:
=> open the task manager (right-click the taskbar)
=> startup tab, disable everything except the antivirus
=> Restart the PC and see what happens (try several restarts)
If not better:
=> Windows + R, type MSconfig
=> In the window, click on the services tab
=> Check Hide all Microsoft services
=> Take screenshots to restore what you disabled later
=> Click on Disable all
=> Restart the PC
=> Restart again to see if you still have the problem

Here are the 2 new FRST64 files:
https://up.security-x.fr/file.php?h=Re6886ecc38e4c70224493694d2373102
https://up.security-x.fr/file.php?h=Rbecc31338e91b6c28fbf22b804bf23a6
I have disabled everything in the task manager > startup tab. Curiously, the Kaspersky antivirus is not listed there, even though it is enabled at startup...
I am posting this message and will restart...

Hey again!
After 4 or 5 reboots/shutdowns of the PC, I haven't seen the message again!!!
We might be onto something!
I'm going to re-enable the elements in the startup menu one by one that are most useful to me... We'll eventually find the "culprit"!
To move things along, since the script error mentions "googletagmanager", which one could be at fault among those that were activated? (attached screenshot - the one with the red T icon, named "USB audio etc." is an external sound card between the PC and my HiFi system)
Thanks again!

Yes, that's what needs to be done
Given what Googletagmanager is, I wonder if it's not Google Drive that's causing the issue, but it could be any of them that connects to servers at startup of the PC

Ooops! I had forgotten to let you know: the issue has been resolved (with the help of a member from another forum and the diagnostic tools ZHP and FRST): it was "minitool partition wizard" that was causing the script error messages, uninstalling it fixed the problem...
Thanks anyway for your help/assistance!
