Hello,

I just discovered that my PC is not using its 8GB of RAM but only 5.95GB.
How can I fix this issue because I have a PC with 6GB of RAM when I bought it with 8GB.

PC name: HP 15-db1043nf
Processor name: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U

Thank you for your response.

    Hello,

It's often because 2GB are allocated to the processor's graphics chipset.

But I still only have 6GB of RAM?

6GB for your CPU and 2GB for your GPU.

Check in Task Manager, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and finally DXdiag to see how the memory is reserved.

So for PCs that use their RAM more (7.68GB usable out of 8GB), their graphics memory will be less performant and their RAM will be more performant, is that correct?

Attention, the RAM does not perform calculations, just to be clear, but yes, the AMD APUs like yours necessarily use more reserved memory for better gaming performance; that's the architecture at work.

    Hello
Do not detect or use, it's very different...
    Screenshots will help to understand.
    Best regards

It's normal, part of it is reserved for hardware and the rest for software.
That's why you need to plan for more than 8 GB (8 being a minimum these days).

Okay, but on other PCs I see it written for example "4GB of RAM (3.93GB usable)".
Other processors use all their RAM, why can't I?

In some cases, the iGPU reserves only 128MB and uses shared memory, which does not reduce the CPU's RAM, except during gaming, not during office work, but this is not the operation of all APU architectures, including those from AMD.
