Uninstall a PRINTER UPDATE

Solved
Hello,

My HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 series printer no longer accepts my non-official HP compatible cartridges that worked perfectly before.
I think this happened after an update. How can I uninstall this latest update?

Thank you for your response.

      Hello.
There are two types of updates for printers: the drivers for Windows and the firmware, which is internal software of the printer. I think it’s the latter that is causing problems. To check if it's possible to downgrade, do this search on the internet:

      downgrade HP printer firmware.

      1. Thank you, but is there a risk to my printer?

@Anonymous userThere is always a risk in doing this, it's up to you to decide; some manufacturers update their firmware to prevent the use of ink cartridges other than their own.
      3. @bazfileNo, I was talking about the site. I know the cartridges work well.

      Hi

      What do you mean?

What are you doing? What's going on?

I really doubt that an update is the cause of it.
      1. Nothing happens when I insert my cartridges.
        They are not recognized.
I also thought I hadn't done any updates.

I highly doubt that a firmware update is the cause

A firmware update took place on January 20, 2022. These updates to the printer's internal software are intended to bring improvements, but as I mentioned earlier, they also aim to block ink cartridges that are not HP-branded. Compatible cartridge manufacturers will adapt by producing cartridges compatible with this firmware, but in the meantime, your current cartridges will not work.
      3. @bazfileYes, it's possible that this is it, but I don't remember doing any updates. Are they automatic?

Once again, we’re getting ripped off! We buy compatible cartridges and before we even have time to print, they’re already not compatible anymore!
