Hello,
Can we physically reduce the width of the "Orange actu" banner on the home page?
Indeed, it takes up almost half of the computer screen.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 92.0

    Hi bollot 1,

    1- Orange homepage
The layout of the homepage, like all ISPs, is often changed.
You just have to wait for a new presentation.

    2- Firefox Zoom
Click on the burger/hamburger icon located at the top right in Firefox.
    The line --►Zoom
    80% for example.

    3- Fixed Zoom
Point 2 does not retain the zoom for the next launch of Firefox.
To avoid having to set the zoom to your liking again (%), install the --► Fixed Zoom extension.
Be careful to set it only for this site, otherwise the % will be the same for all sites.

    4- Remove the banner
It is possible to remove elements from the banner, or even the entire banner if you wish.
    Example in the image below:

    After

    Hello pistouri,
I have another one of my little issues that isn't very important, but if we can solve it, all the better. Indeed, the Orange homepage takes up almost half of the screen with ads and other buttons that we don't use.
I haven't made the change you suggested yet, to reply to you right away, but after sending my response, I will make the change and I'll come back to tell you the result.
    See you soon!

    Happy for you.
Why do you stick with the Orange portal knowing that you have SFR?
Because of an Orange email address?

    See you later

Well no, I don't really care about the Orange portal, but since I've had my computer, I've been using that portal; it's actually a habit.
I don't have an email address with them; I'm with SFR as you know.
Are you thinking of something via SFR? I'm "open"...

    No specific question, just curious.
    Thank you for answering.
Each of us has our habits.

My dad and my brother are with SFR and I am with FREE.
For the homepage, Google is enough for me, as it loads faster since, as you know, there are no video animations or images.
I prefer FREE because I use the hard drive a lot (Freebox Player, not necessarily watching TV) and it’s convenient (Connecting a network player).

My PC is not far from the TV so I see both, sometimes 3 with the smartphone, and I use the Freebox remote downloaded from the Microsoft Store on the PC (the real remote doesn't move from its place in my small living room).

Rightly, I overheard a conversation between my brother (I set up his PC) and an SFR advisor, as he has fiber for the first time in his life, I heard him say that he had to pay an extra charge to have more recording hours.
And I know that switching to fiber cost him 60 euros, whereas it's free with FREE.

Feel free to discuss if you wish.

Alright for everything. I will still try the Google homepage to see...
On my end, I'm still on ADSL. With SFR, I believe fiber is paid and quite expensive, but I don't know the details.
Then, you're talking to me about DD with the Free box, I suppose, remote PC, TV, but I don't know anything about that, I think there are possibilities between PC, Box, smartphone of course, but I'm not competent in that area...

Depending on where you're located, you may not yet be eligible for fiber.
==► Fiber and ADSL eligibility test - SFR
It's also the case for my father in the countryside. (Yet the fiber runs right in front of his house, I don't know why SFR hasn't connected him).

As for network sharing, it's indeed a different story between PC/TV/Smartphone, but I can see everything on the TV, even my Chromecast works well when I use it.

    See you later

Yes, I am eligible, but I’m waiting for them to lower their prices if possible. The neighbor paid an arm and a leg to have it installed at her place.
As for the rest, we might talk about it another time; this isn’t the right Forum for that, certainly.
    See you!

I saw this as the rate for a single-family home.

As for the price drop (fiber), not even a candle will fix it!
Even if the price drops, some ISPs like SFR have tricks to raise subscriptions, and it’s the same regardless of customer dissatisfaction (especially for the most loyal ones).
The data for the mobile plan.
Recently, they are required not only to mention it but also to be able to refuse it (a 4-month deadline, I believe)
    For the basic subscription
For example, on SFR: the fixed subscription increases by 3 euros
    That was 1 month ago.

We can end this pleasant little debate to avoid going too off topic.
You can mark the topic as resolved.
Have a great rest of the day.

    See you!

Yes, that's the price €299. That's what the neighbor paid...
Have a good evening to you too.
Thanks for everything once again and see you soon.
