Hello,
I’m having an issue with the XP 4501 series printers, the situation is the same with the Samsung laser printers.
All these printers have a push-button on/off switch.
So, I'm wondering how to operate (turn on) these printers remotely using Wake-on-LAN?
That being said,
I can't understand
how one can claim to have a remote access feature
if you need someone to be physically close to the machine.
It lacks coherence and over time it can be quite costly since
the machine has to stay awake for the entire time we're away.
Indeed, staying in standby still consumes electricity without being used.
A real financial and ecological waste.
Otherwise,
how can I change the push button to a basic on/off switch? Then it would just require a smart plug....

I don't understand your question!!!
If you want to operate a printer remotely, it must be on standby, which means it consumes electricity. This operation is completely normal. It's exactly like a TV; if you want to turn it on with the remote control, it has to be in standby. And yes, a device in standby consumes electricity, sometimes even more than when it is turned on. So you have to choose! Either you leave it in standby to take control remotely, or you turn it off completely, but that requires someone to be physically present to turn it on.
