Hello,
I just downloaded Picasa (3.9.10.4) on my new computer (Asus) with Windows 10 and, to my surprise, I have the option to choose my default email client Thunderbird instead of it being fixed to Outlook.
How is it that I don’t get this choice on my other computer, which is on Windows 10 but via a Windows 8.1 gateway, with the same version of Picasa downloaded?
Please let me know.

Configuration: Windows / Edge 84.0.522.63

    Hello
    https://picasa.google.com/
    picasa is outdated

picasa (google) has no link with thunderbird (mozilla), outlook (microsoft) or windows 10/8.1

you should download original software, not repacks

the mail software of win10 is called "Mail", if you prefer to use another one, it's up to you to configure it

    Hello,
Picasa is indeed no longer offered by Google, but it still works because I still use it to organize my photos and edit them. The problem is that it is theoretically no longer possible to send photos by email with the app, because when it offers the sending mail client, in the options there are only Outlook or Gmail.
I have Thunderbird, this mail client no longer appears on my PC with W10 obtained from W8.1, but appears in the sending options with as a second choice my Google account, on my new Asus PC with W10. Weird????

    Hello,
no problem, it’s been done for a long time, but Picasa on my old PC with W8.1 doesn’t account for it. Thanks anyway for the information.

The photo sorting software is not a data processing program that needs to assign an extension to each file so that it recognizes the photo of your mother-in-law or of the little kids that you classify under the niece's wedding category.

There is no point in setting it by default.

Please at least take the trouble to respond! A thank you would be appreciated. Mark as solved if your problem has found a solution. I use informal you with everyone.

It's not a matter of ranking. Mine is just to send photos by email without having to reduce them to increase the number, and Picasa does it very well automatically. You just need to specify the maximum size in the options.

    another method:
you put the photos in the cloud, you select the ones you want to share, the cloud software gives you a link that you send by email, so the recipients download them from the cloud in high quality without cluttering the mailbox
