Hello, since May 19, 2018, I have been unable to send photos via Picasa. Google asks me for my email address each time, then my password; when I click on "send," I receive a message "HTTP error error 0-(12)! I don't like Google Photos... Do I have to give up on Picasa for good? Am I the only one in this situation? Thank you very much for your help! Best regards.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 66.0.3359.181

Couldn't the users of Picasa come together and send a "plea" to Google to resume the updates?

    Hello,

    You are not alone!

    https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-35385586-probleme-avec-picasa#p35386175

Apparently, it's a feature that has disappeared. The rest seems to work. So there’s no reason to give up on Picasa.

I was able to work again with Picasa 3, but the manipulations are different, and the way to process photos is significantly more complicated. If I want to isolate one photo that is part of a document that contains, for example, a hundred, the entire hundred comes up in Picasa...!!!!! and I can't stop this compulsive scrolling.

Same problem! Every time I send photos through Picasa, I'm constantly asked for access codes, and then Google tells me I'm not connected to the internet! Which is false?
It's shameful to leave people hanging like this!
I'm going to delete all this and go elsewhere if I don't get a response.

      Hello,

How should we tell you that sending photos through Picasa no longer works?
This software is abandoned by Google, which removed features, including photo sharing.
Send your photos by email or through Google Photos.
There are plenty of ways to share your photos.
Don't cling to Picasa: it's dead!

      Best regards

    Hello,

    For those nostalgic about Picasa:

Aside from the email sending issue, you may have noticed that reading the geolocation info from photos is no longer working.

    There is a solution:
    https://sites.google.com/site/picasaresources/Home/Picasa-FAQ/picasa/troubleshooting/the-geotag-window-in-picasa-isn-t-working

It's in English, not too difficult to understand. (You can translate it into French by right-clicking on the page.)
The principle is to download a file called FixPicasaMap.reg, which will modify the Windows registry. You just click on the file name to initiate the operation.
You will receive several warnings from Windows about the risks associated with this modification. It's risk-free.

If you have any concerns, create a Windows restore point
    before modifying the registry.
    https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/windows/cr%C3%A9er-un-point-de-restauration-du-syst%C3%A8me-77e02e2a-3298-c869-9974-ef5658ea3be9

When you restart Picasa, geolocation will be active again.

Used to Picasa 3 for years and thrilled with its ease of use. Apparently, Picasa 3 is discontinued, and I have to open a Google account to work on my photos, with the requirement of changing my email address to Gmail, which I absolutely do not want to do. Life is being made more complicated for us, and this is highly unpleasant.

I love Picasa and I'm keeping it. I've tried different solutions but it's too complicated for me. So I send my photos through "my images" in an email and it works very well. A big thank you to those who have looked for solutions.

    Hello

It has been reported to you for some time that Picasa would no longer be supported and abandoned. By the way, what really bothers you about Google Photos?

The fact that you cannot manage photos directly on your computer. You must necessarily transfer them to Google servers.

    Hello to you;

Personally, I am not a fan of Picasa, but it is on one of my machines and the photo sending via the Mail option at the bottom works perfectly with my personal email, which is Thunderbird.
I just did a test by sending 33 photos to 2 of my Thunderbird accounts and I received all of that within the next 2 minutes... Conclusion: Why not use your own email to transfer photos if Picasa is no longer able or willing to do it..

    See screenshot image below

    See you +

    Best regards

      Hello,

Absolutely right! That's what I mentioned in the link above. Thunderbird uses the default account!

For me, it's unnecessarily complicated: it's better to share photos from the Windows Explorer; and in addition, we can choose the account we want to post with (not necessarily the "default" account).

Pierr10, xylon, Jmarion3: a huge thank you to all of you, and I'm sorry for not responding faster (helping someone with Parkinson's disease, so I'm often away from home).
I will study your answers, and I will choose the solution that seems easiest for me.
Thanks again to all of you,
    I consider this topic resolved!

    It's the same for me.
If this continues, I'm going to uninstall this app.

Hello, I found a solution to easily modify and send my photos.
    - I import my photos (smartphone, camera), but first, I open "Picasa."
    - There, I can edit, write, crop, etc. my photos.
After each modified photo, I go to "File" - at the top left - then I scroll down to "save as"… and I give a name to my photo. The same goes for the next one.
    - Obviously, we have 2 photos in "my pictures," just delete the original photo.
And to easily send them to my friends, I created an account on Outlook.fr. This email service is very easy to use: you click on the paperclip "attachment" and on "browse this computer." The photos upload quite quickly, and my friends receive the modified, cropped photos, etc.
I had already tried Thunderbird, but I didn't like it at all. Outlook is more logical (for me).

So Vinc, don’t uninstall Picasa ... Try it first, and let me know what you think.
    Best regards

I have the same problem. I don't know how to send photos from Picasa by email anymore. Every time I enter my information, I get an error message – it used to be so easy. I'm 81 years old and I don't know what to do anymore.

      Hello,

It is impossible to make uploads from Picasa. Use Google Photos (accessible from Google by clicking on the 9 small dots in the top right).
You will be able to share your photos and albums without any problem.
