Photo transfer issue in Picasa

Hello,

Until last week, when I saved a photo file in "my documents," it automatically and immediately transferred to Picasa, but yesterday I created a new photo folder and the transfer is not happening in Picasa... Could there be a delay and will the photos eventually be transferred? Thank you for your help?

    Hello...

    If it's a new folder, you need to add it to Picasa3, otherwise it won't recognize it and monitor it!
    You launch Picasa3 >> File (in the top left) >> Add folder to Picasa3 ...and in the window that opens, you go to your images folder to start monitoring it

    Picasa transfers nothing at all, that's important.

    Picasa READS your photos from the locations specified in the settings. It doesn't move anything.
    Then what you modify with Picasa will be done "on the photo", a bit like a layer you add to the photo with modifications/effects that can eventually be removed.

    If you create a new folder containing photos, Picasa needs to know there is a new folder for it to add it to "its list" of folders to "watch" (but again, it doesn't move anything).

    If it doesn't do this within a reasonable time (10 minutes), it means it cannot see the folder. If your new folder is under "images", it is supposed to find it unless the settings say otherwise.

    You will find HERE an example of this principle; this example talks about disabling the "monitoring" of a folder, but you just need to do the opposite.

    Thank you, but what I don't understand is that until now, I didn't have to do any manipulation; the transfer happened automatically as soon as I saved a new photo file.

    If Picasa3 was automatically recognizing folders, it's likely that it was configured incorrectly ... because in this case, it saves and monitors all photos or other items present on the PC, including those we do not want to appear
    Edit ...Actually, it's during the installation of Picasa3 that one needs to be careful, because if the default option is not modified, it will search for anything that looks like a photo or an image ......
    You need to check the second option (marked with a circle) and choose the folders you want to appear in your album... But it is possible to correct it later, although it's more time-consuming...

    Try restarting your computer so that Picasa can perform a new scan of your folders on your disk.

    Otherwise, you can add it manually as @jmarion3 mentioned.
