Hello everyone,

After a long search for an answer to my question, I'm writing this post to finally find one

I bought an HP laptop 14-cf0034nf about a year ago.
It has been slow, so I decided to restore it to start fresh.

This isn't the first time I've restored a computer using a USB drive, but this time I'm stuck, or rather the installation is stuck :??:

Simply at the step of preparing files for installation, it gets stuck at 16%.
So I tried turning it off and restarting the Windows download, but I'm still encountering the same problem; this step remains stuck at a certain percentage.

To give you a better visual, I’m including a photo with my post

I would like to know if there is a solution or if this is due to a hardware issue.

Thank you :)

Hi,

Try with another USB stick.

Check the disk with CrystalDiskInfo.
You can do this from the Malekal Live CD: https://www.malekal.com/tester-diagnostic-materiel-de-ordinateur-live-cd-malekal/

Lastly, check if a BIOS update is available:

Thank you for your reply,

Regarding the disk check and BIOS update, I would like to point out that I have already formatted the disk and therefore no longer have access to Windows.

Hence the Malekal Live CD.
For the BIOS update, if the computer is recent, you can download the update, put it on the USB stick, and run it from the BIOS.

Since you had previous issues, it's possibly the hard drive.

Ok thanks, I probably didn't dig deep enough then haha sorry
I'll take a closer look at that

One more question then, does formatting the hard drive and therefore Windows void the warranty?

Thanks for your help

I don't know about the warranty, we need to check the conditions.
I would say no just like that.
