Windows 10 Installation Stuck \HELP/

Hello,

I started the installation of Windows 10 in Dual Boot with my Windows 7.
The files are copying fine and the installation is proceeding correctly.

Once the first reboot is done, Windows displays "Preparing devices 0% ... 100%" then "Preparing" with a loading circle.

After a few minutes (or seconds), this circle stops (at this stage) and I cannot perform a Hard Reboot (with the power button), I have to cut the power.

After looking at several forums, many people have this problem and the solution seems to be to wait. However, this solution seems to work only on a VM installation. But I am not on a VM.

The installation ISO of Windows 10 that I have is the latest build released by Microsoft (probably the RTM), 64bit version (like my current OS).

I should add that I had already tried to install Windows 8/8.1 some time ago, and the installation was stuck at the same point, I never found the solution.

I wanted to start this installation to ensure it would work by the end of July, but unfortunately, I realize that I have the same problems as with the installation of W8.

Of course, my version of Windows 7 is genuine, as well as the version of Windows 8 that I tried to install.

Here are the general specifications of my machine (I updated the BIOS last week: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-Z77X-D3H-rev-11#bios --> F18i).

Windows 7
GTX GeForce 970 Strix (Asus)
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H (v.1.1)
i5 3570 (3.4GHz)
8G RAM

I am afraid it might be due to my processor and/or my motherboard, but I have no idea what the reason might be.

I really need help :)

I can provide you with a picture of where the installation gets stuck, but I prefer to limit power cuts for my poor motherboard :).

Thank you!

Best regards

Could it be that you simply ran out of patience?
The circle may have paused for the duration of a task.

I'm tempted to tell you to try again, but this time leave the computer for half an hour. :)

Thank you for your response!

I left it for at least 30 minutes. But I lost patience...

On the other hand, I reinstalled everything (exactly as I had done just before), and now I’m able to get a little further. The only thing I changed is that I removed the installation CD from the drive after the installation (right after the first reboot), that's it...

It’s now asking me if I want to use the basic configuration or not (I tested both), but it gets stuck afterwards when it says "Just a moment", and the spinning circle freezes; I left it for a good while again, but it stays stuck.

Like with the installation of Windows 8, at random times, I was able to reach these post-install messages, and just like that, it crashed...

If anyone has an idea :)

Thank you!
