Hello everyone!
I'm posting here because of a frustrating problem I'm experiencing with my laptop.
Let me explain: a little over a month ago, I accidentally dropped it quite hard on the ground. So far, so good; nothing too serious, just the left hinge between the screen and keyboard is broken (just the body of the laptop, the plastic part). However, since then, every time I want to close my laptop or just tilt it a bit more as if I were closing it, it completely shuts down (not just the screen while the laptop keeps running in the background). Moreover, to close it, I have to push on that troublesome left hinge while lowering the screen, otherwise, it’s as if the two plastic parts of the screen (front/back) are pulling apart.
I don't know if I've clearly explained my issue, but some of you might know where that could be coming from and if so, how to fix it? Given that my laptop is 3 years old and quite slow, would it be more worthwhile to buy a new one?
Thanks in advance, have a great day!
Emmanuel

In fact, when I tilt it outward, there's no problem, but as soon as I try to tilt it inward (like I want to close it), that's when it shuts down completely. To turn it back on, I have to plug it in, and then I can turn it on (I can unplug it right away).
Yes, for example, or when I remove the battery or when I hold down the power button for a long time.
Could the ribbon cable have been damaged during the fall?
