Hello,

After turning off my computer, I cut the power from a power strip. I turn the computer back on and it gives me "checking and repairing drive C:"

Is there a way to fix it through the command prompt or troubleshooting? Thank you.

    Thank you for your responses!

After typing sfc /scannow in the command prompt, a message appears saying "Windows Resource Protection failed to perform the requested operation."

And I restarted, and it's still the same thing.

Ouch... generally, only a factory reset can truly fix this error... because it's a hassle otherwise
Let's not panic, let's act as if we didn't see anything!

Have you run a complete chkdsk c: /f on the machine? It takes several hours but if your system is asking you to do it, there is a reason.
