User account not opening

Hello,

we have a computer with two administrator user accounts. The first one opens normally, but since yesterday, for the second one, after entering the password, the message "preparing Windows" appears and after a while another message shows up saying that the system cannot connect to this account, asking us to disconnect and reconnect, and it’s always the same. In the control panel, both accounts are showing up though. Does anyone have any idea what the source of this problem could be and how to fix it?

Hello,

If there is data on the PC, on the other user account that won't open, I advise you to go to the account by navigating to C:\Users from the one that works.

There, you open the account, enter the password if prompted, then save the data.

Finally, delete the account and recreate it.

Thank you. I actually ran anti-malware software (Malwarebytes) and it solved the problem for me. It found a lot of unwanted elements on that account. I deleted everything, and everything is back to normal. Thanks again, and have a good evening.

So your PC was likely infected, or there were corrupted/incomplete settings.
