Hello,
netplwiz won't open
Hello, I am on Windows 10 and after a retired person's manipulation I fumbled.
I had an ADMINISTRATOR account titled MEISSEINE
I first added a 2nd "local account" and then I changed the Administrator account to a "Local account" and now I find myself with 2 "local accounts": account No. 1 = MEISSEINE and account No. 2 = SCANNER RICOH. This means I deleted the Administrator account. I looked online for HOW TO RESTORE AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT, or HOW TO DELETE A LOCAL ACCOUNT, etc., but I can’t get it done.
Here are the two methods I tried: one with SETTINGS and the other with the NETPLWIZ method.
With the SETTINGS - ACCOUNTS - SIGN-IN OPTIONS method, I come across a TEXT that says “Authentication is required to take this PC out of sleep mode. Sign in as an administrator to change this setting. Require sign-in after your absence” and then there is a box that says “When the PC wakes up from sleep” GRAYED OUT and therefore cannot be used. Since there is no longer an Administrator account, I am stuck.
With the NETPLWIZ method in run, I come across a window that states “User Account Control. Do you want to allow this application to make changes to this device? Advanced User Accounts Control Panel. Verified Publisher: Microsoft Windows. Show more details. To continue, type an administrator name and password” and there is a box that says NO.
HERE IS WHAT I HAVE WITH THE NETPLWIZ METHOD. And if I click NO I end up back on the desktop
THIS IS MY PROBLEM.
MY QUESTION:
1- HOW CAN I DELETE THE LOCAL ACCOUNT No. 2 titled RICOH THAT I CREATED.
2- HOW CAN I RESTORE THE LOCAL ACCOUNT No. 1 titled MEISSEINE AS AN ADMINISTRATOR
Thank you for everything.
