Hello,
My sister just got a new Thomson PC running Windows 10. The setup went well, everything seems to be in order, but when I try to log in, the screen stays black, although the cursor does appear.
What should I do? Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Your sister's PC is new, the best thing is to take it back to the store and claim the warranty.
Request an exchange while politely insisting.
Consider getting another PC or a more expensive one if you can afford a better quality one.
It’s possible the PC is stuck on an update or something.
If you haven't done it, plug in the charger cable.
On this PC, the battery cannot be removed.
Try this in the meantime.
1- Check this post, I reset it this way.
In summary:
Press the " ON " button and then press F9 during startup.
A menu will then appear, select "Repair your computer" ("Réparer l’ordinateur" in French)
or
Press the Shift key (the one above Ctrl)
Then at the bottom of the screen you’ll see
- Sleep
- Restart
- Shut down
Select → Restart
This takes about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The following message in the link is for reinstalling as a last resort.
Another solution.
Turn the PC on and off 3 or 4 times in a row, it will go into repair mode.
In the WinRE environment, you can go to Troubleshoot and reset.
Good luck.
See you!

I was hoping for another solution than returning it to the store, but never mind.
