Delete backup (rotation)

Solved

Hello everyone,
I would like to set up a regular, automatic, and scheduled deletion of a complete folder (including subfolders and files).
Various backup software (Cobian Backup, which I use) and others offer different types of backups but never completely delete a folder before replacing it with the backup.
Not knowing how to script, I would like to find software that can meet my needs, even if paid. I am on Windows 10 Pro. I have searched a lot online but, for now, without success. Cloning the image of my system and/or my disk also does not meet my request.
I hope I have made myself clear......
If someone has the solution, I would be eternally grateful.........
A big thank you to the whole community

    Hi,

Are you talking about deleting the backup when a new one is made or the source folder?

      Hello Malekal_morte,
      Thank you for your reply.
The source folder must absolutely not be erased.
Only the new backup of the entire source folder should be saved. The new backup (the entire folder) must erase the old backup (also the entire folder).
To my knowledge, no software deletes an entire backup folder before replacing it with the new backup.
A big thank you for looking into my problem!!

okay I had a doubt, I found that strange :)

I think all software does it, most have in their advanced options, the option of rotation (like deleting a backup beyond a certain day or after so many backups)

    Example with Acronis :
    https://www.malekal.com/wp-content/uploads/Acronis_True_Image_sauvegarde_5.png

The tutorial : https://www.malekal.com/acronis-sauvegarde-image-systeme/ On the page, you will find other tutorials, it might answer your question.

EaseUS_Backup : https://www.malekal.com/wp-content/uploads/EaseUS_Backup_sauvegarde_systeme_4.png However, one must also understand that making full backups all the time isn’t necessarily ideal, depending on the volume.
It takes time to back up.

Here too, most software offers: full backup + incremental.

        Okay for the title.
I’m in the middle of discovering Acronis, which I didn’t know, while checking if it can address my problem!
        More of your other solutions.....
See you soon and a thousand thanks again!

Bennnn, I’ve read the sections about me in a 181-page PDF tutorial on Acronis (!) at the following address:
[http://dl.acronis.com/u/pdf/ATI2016_userguide_fr-FR.pdf]_Acronis does lots of great things, but file and folder backups are done exactly like other software: full, incremental, and differential backups, those softwares are free.
Acronis does not erase a backup folder before backing it up again to the same location!
Page 19 but especially 31 of the tutorial.
Back to square one, as they say.....
I don’t know if you have any other solutions to propose, otherwise I’m waiting for other possible suggestions.
Awaiting your response, thank you so much..........

    Hello again,
I think I’ve found the right fit.
I’ve found software that clearly states that you can automatically erase a backup before redoing it (which is what I’m looking for).
It’s FBackup, which, on top of that, is free!
The address where I got this info, the publisher’s site:
https://fr.fbackup.com/__I’ll check if everything goes as announced (in my opinion there’s no reason it shouldn’t) and I’ll tell you at the end of this question if everything works well.
I’ll do it only tomorrow because I have to go now.
Thanks to all these extraordinary supporters.

    Hello again to everyone,
Well, I just tested FBackup. Everything is perfect.
There is indeed a checkbox if you want the previous backup folder to be completely erased before the software creates the same backup of the original folder.
Thus, no matter what modifications are made to the original folder, whether in additions, removals, or file changes, everything is completely identical in the backup, and this is the case for each backup.
A very, very big thank you to Malekal_morte- for their skills, kindness, and speed of response.
    Good evening everyone!
I mark this question as resolved.
