OpenOffice shuts down by itself

Hello,

I'm having difficulties using files on OpenOffice 4.1.1, as they close by themselves while I'm using them, displaying the message:

"OpenOffice has crashed due to an unexpected error. All the files you were working on will now be saved. The next time you start OpenOffice, these files will be automatically recovered."

The files I’m trying to open are visuals for a university course, which I download from a sharing platform in "Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation" format and then open with OpenOffice.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me?

    You may consider checking the memory allocated for images
    Tools> Options
    +Open Office Org
    --RAM
    increase the cache for images to 96 MB



    however, the compatibility between PowerPoint and Open Office is not always perfect.
    to view the files, you may want to use the PowerPoint viewer (free).
