Hello,
I have a Gigaset A420A and for a few days now I have been receiving calls but I can't hear the caller, although they can hear me, and my screen displays "external call" even though the caller is saved in my directory. Thank you for providing a response.

Good evening
Unknown caller (click on the image to enlarge)
External call
Excerpt from the Manual page 7
Caller ID display
During an incoming call, the number or name of the caller (if stored in the directory or if you have access to the CNIP service) appears on the screen.
Conditions:
1 You have requested your network operator to activate the "
Caller ID display" (CLIP) or their name
(CNIP), so that this information appears on your screen.
2 The caller has requested their operator to enable transmission of their number (CLI).
The screen displays External call if you did not request caller ID, Private number if the caller has opted for caller ID suppression, or Unknown if they did not request it.

Very difficult to catch a black cat 😸 in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

I have the same issue and it’s not due to the volume level since in intercom mode (I have 3 handsets) it works well, but during an incoming or outgoing call, my correspondent can't hear me.

Good evening anyway....
If this phone is connected to a router, reset the router by cutting off its power supply for a few seconds.
