New speaker crackles with the slightest bass

Good evening everyone. I'm sharing my concern:
I own a 206, and being a music fan, I've installed a "sound system," if I may say so, in my vehicle.
I've installed a SONY head unit, producing 4x55W: Sony CDX-G1000 (€90)
I've also installed a pair of PIONEER front speakers of 220W each (€50)
A SUB and an amplifier.
This is where it gets tricky.... My speakers deliver the highs just fine, but the lows are another story... at half volume, if I don't set the bass to -10 and the treble to +10, the sound is really awful. It crackles like you wouldn't believe. With these settings, I can turn up to just over 3/4 of the maximum volume without the sound skipping, but it is a bit piercing on the ears. The settings also affect my sub, which ends up delivering rather "hollow" bass.
To summarize: I've installed a new head unit, new speakers, but even the slightest bass coming from my speakers ruins all the music, to the point of being unbearable.
I've adjusted my sub to get as much bass as possible via the amplifier, but I'm afraid it might damage it.
I want to point out that the highs sound wonderful.
Is there a reason for all this? I plan to remove my door trims to check that I haven't reversed the polarities. My head unit is definitely wired correctly.
Am I being too greedy wanting more sound? Or is there really a problem? It could simply be that the head unit is causing the issues... I plan to try my friend's head unit, which is exactly the same as mine, to compare. However, your opinions will surely help me. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

What is the brand and model of the subwoofer and the amplifier?

What does the amplifier wiring kit consist of?
