Hello everyone!
After trying to manage on my own, I must admit that the problem is beyond me, so I acknowledge that I need help. I have gone through all the forums discussing this issue, without finding a single one that can solve my concern. What concern? This one:
I have a small (big?) problem with my download speed using uTorrent. Let me explain:
A few months ago, I was downloading at 120-140 kB/s. Today, I'm barely exceeding 20 kB/s (if I’m lucky).
After thinking about it, I believe the problem started after one of my friends unsuccessfully tried to set up a network connection between our two computers.
I have the Freebox 24M, antivirus Avira (free version without the firewall), and the Windows firewall is disabled (but uTorrent is placed in the exceptions, along with its ports).
In uTorrent, the small yellow triangle indicates that my port does not seem to be open (a classic problem from what I've seen)
“Error! Port 54484 does not appear to be open.”
Yet in the Free router management interface, I have opened the TCP and UDP ports for uTorrent. I have changed ports several times, with no results. (the "random port" box is indeed unchecked)
I have set my maximum upload and download rates to 3000 (I read that this could affect the performance), but nothing changes.
I think I've covered everything. Oh yes, I do not know the brand of my router (just in case you plan to ask me that).
There you go, my download speed is in your hands.Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.2

It should be noted that the yellow triangle doesn't always mean much! It is true that opening ports when you have a router is essential for the proper functioning of uTorrent, but that doesn't mean it will go faster! To be able to download at high speed, you need to return to the source, meaning the chosen file. The more seeders there are, the more likely your file will finish quickly and well. For my part, I download (for all files) with an average of over 150 KB/s and spikes exceeding 2000 KB/s (several recent proofs to support this). I couldn't leave you without giving you my settings with the hope that they will be of great use to you..
Connections = Port used -> 26950
= Enable UPnP port mapping as well as NAT-PMP port mapping
= Max upload rate -> It’s up to you.. mine is 100 KB/s
= Max download rate -> It’s up to you as well.. mine is 5000 KB/s
BitTorrent = Max global connections -> 200
= Max clients per torrent -> (if your PC is patched) 55 otherwise limited to 10
= Max upload slots per torrent -> 4
= Additional BitTorrent features -> Check everything except limit bandwidth
= Encryption protocol -> Enabled and check allow inherited incoming connections

I just tried your µTorrent settings and I’m downloading at 90 kb/s, something that has never happened to me since I’ve had µTorrent. Thank you very much for your guidance, it WORKS.
