Which camera to choose

Hello, my mother lives alone and she is elderly. I’d like to find a 360-degree camera that starts recording as soon as it detects motion, that works at night, and above all that my sisters and I, who don’t necessarily live nearby, can see what is happening in the house at all times, with recording on a memory card.

Hopefully such a device exists; if anyone can share a link, thank you.

Best regards,

    Hello,

Technically speaking, a memory card cannot be in the hands of multiple people at once and its capacity is limited, so a "Cloud" solution would be more "appropriate".

Regarding addressing risks of dizziness or falls, cameras cannot be placed in every room including the bedroom, bathroom, or toilet; the person, even elderly and even under guardianship, has the right to their privacy, and not even in a single room without their consent.

There is no 100% solution; more often, home care services are used if they become indispensable, or button-press pendants (which do not prevent the person from forgetting to wear them or from not being able to press them).

Home care we already have; the current problem is that she loses 2 kg per month, and we want to know if she eats when she is alone or not. There are services or people who can bring or prepare meals, but they won’t stay with her to check if she eats. The retirement home is very non-social, in plain terms shy or antisocial lol, and very difficult regarding food, so options are a bit limited.

It must exist, after all; I have a retiree neighbor who does this to keep busy and to make ends meet for a associations' sake, he feeds people in need (elderly or not).

Of course, there are highly protein products in pharmacies, often reimbursed on prescription; I know it’s essential that they are always swallowed, but in small volumes and presented in different ways, some of the liquids or desserts aren’t particularly appetizing.

The question is also whether meals are brought ready-made, if a person who isn’t hungry wants to eat them, or if they should have appropriate consistency (dentition), and whether one should not give in to what they want to eat even if it’s not very balanced.

A camera with motion detection, night vision, and remote access via an app is probably what you need. Also check that multiple family members can access the video feed at the same time and that microSD card recording is supported. By the way, if you enjoy creating custom visuals for your photos or posts, brat image is a nice tool to discover.

    Hello,

    - I have created a video surveillance software, which can be activated continuously if needed, motion detection, standalone component, images stored locally. Live camera stream control.

    - It runs on Raspberry Pi or PC, you can connect it to a USB IR camera.

    - You will find all useful information on JanusEye ( https://januseye.pages-perso.free.fr/ )
