What is the purpose of this box? Solved

Question

I am going to move into a house where the France Telecom line starts with a small box containing two kinds of fuses
which apparently date back to Methuselah. What is it used for
knowing that all the sockets start from this box and that the line coming from the outside begins at this box

Hello,

I have an FT box but it's not quite the same yet!

Inside, there are two white fuses, one on the left and the other on the right!
Below, in the middle, there's a gray barrette, which is apparently a surge protector!

Above, I have the FT connection with two gray wires
At the bottom, it's the connection for the internal phone wire, so the white and gray wires.

I would like to know how to replace this piece if it can be found in stores, or if I could use some sort of terminal block between the external and internal wires (as if I were directly putting a connector between these wires)

If anyone has already encountered this same box, please help me, as being on total unbundling with 9 telecom, I don't think FT would want to help me!

I have the same question.
Indeed, I just moved in and complete unbundling has just arrived at my place.
Unfortunately, I have a very low ADSL speed.
I don't know if I can modify this box myself, and I think my speed issue comes from this box.

I have no tone at all...

It looks like fuses, is that the case?
There seems to be one that is burnt out... (below on the ohmmeter), can I replace it with a wire?

These are the old incoming boxes from France Telecom (like big lead fuses to prevent backflow when there’s a storm!!) you can remove them as they might cause certain non-synchronizations for iPadsl or ADSL+. In this case, I suggest putting either a FT junction box or a test socket, making sure to properly connect the FT arrival and connect the gray wire of your 8-pair cable to position 1 of your jack, the white wire to position 3, and the colorless wire to position 2. The gray and white wires should face the two cables of the France Telecom arrival...
