I think it must depend on the tattoo, mine only receives digital messages so for those that can receive both, it must be more expensive for text messages, but invoices from Free + Bouygues support, the digital message (phone number or code in digits) costs €0.271,

Not only do pagers, or beepers, formerly known as Tatoo, exist, but more and more people are using them: firefighters, police, doctors, etc.

The price of a new pager with plenty of features is about €100, and a calling base costs around €190, bringing the total to about €300 for the transmitter-receiver kit.

Expensive for an individual, but let's note that once purchased, there are no more subscription fees or communication costs as was the case before...

Moreover, contrary to what was stated above, people who call you do not spend a dime, provided that your calls do not exceed a range of 1 to 2 km, depending on your environment.

So unlimited communications = guaranteed payback!!!

For those who use a tattoo, it is certainly interesting to inform your correspondents how it works:
- it is NOT a mobile phone (forget SMS)
- it is designed to receive voice messages, digital messages or texts (in some cases, go through the dedicated e*message service)
- NO SMS !!
- NO caller ID display
- in case of contact via a tattoo pager: PROVIDE THE NUMBER TO CALL BACK (and not the tattoo number itself...)

To be called back by a TATOO user, the principle is simple:
1/ dial the tattoo call number (06 56....)
2/ dial YOUR number then '#'
3/ hang up after the friendly confirmation message...

For a voice message only step 2/ changes: you must first press '*'...

As a tattoo user myself (more convenient/simple than a phone): this small notice for people who are looking for how to leave a message is here to simplify their life (as long as they are looking for this notice or already know how to use it).

It's working very well tattoo!
I've reactivated 2 tattoos and they are operating at full capacity with at least 10 messages per day each, E*message must be pleased.

However, I thought they only had one PocSag frequency at 466MHz, but I have a Motorola Bravo and a Motorola Tattoo1 that use two different frequencies. But it's working just as well.

Honestly, I really like these devices; I turn off my phones at night, and the tattoo stays ON, so in case of emergency my loved ones know what to do. Or if I'm out of battery, my wife and parents know what code to send for me to call from a landline. Etc... Plus, it works where there's no mobile network, like between Fontainebleau and Melun - 77 - I'm really glad this thing has stayed and survived. I'm proud of my Motorola Bravo and Memo.  The only thing that would be great would be to be able to send SMS from a mobile, or text from the net.

Finally, I called the tattoo service; the cost of the call is not cheap. I advise you, if you have the number of your device, to call it and see if it works (the call is €1.99 including VAT). Just in case, they will ask for your name, and if everything is okay, you will get your number.  Happy tattooing, everyone!
