Hello,

For some time now, when I started my computer, the noise from the motherboard fan lasted longer than usual, but the PC booted up normally after the usual "beep."

Tonight, I tried to start the PC as usual, but the motherboard fan is running constantly, and nothing lights up on the front buttons, no noise other than the fan, and the disc drive (I tried to open it) doesn't even work.

I searched the forum before asking, but I didn't find anything on this.

Can you help me? My PC is essential for my work.

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows XP SP3 - Media Center Edition 2005 -
3300 MB of RAM -
Intel Pentium D 2.80 GHz -
Integrated ATI graphics card -
Browser IE and Firefox

hi
unplug the power connector from your motherboard (the largest cable), then press the power button to start your computer; your fans will spin for a fraction of a second. then reconnect the cable and try to restart your PC.
I do this very often when my PC becomes temperamental.
