PC won't start and fan makes continuous noise Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,  For some time now, when I started my computer, the noise from the motherboard fan lasted longer than usual, but the PC booted up normally after the usual "beep."  Tonight, I tried to start the PC as usual, but the motherboard fan is running constantly, and nothing lights up on the front buttons, no noise other than the fan, and the disc drive (I tried to open it) doesn't even work.  I searched the forum before asking, but I didn't find anything on this.  Can you help me? My PC is essential for my work.  Thank you in advance.    Configuration: Windows XP SP3 - Media Center Edition 2005 - 3300 MB of RAM - Intel Pentium D 2.80 GHz - Integrated ATI graphics card - Browser IE and Firefox

hi unplug the power connector from your motherboard (the largest cable), then press the power button to start your computer; your fans will spin for a fraction of a second. then reconnect the cable and try to restart your PC. I do this very often when my PC becomes temperamental.

It doesn't work. The fan keeps spinning like crazy, but nothing turns on anywhere.  And while running an errand this evening, I asked a computer salesperson at Boulanger, and he suspects the motherboard...  I'm panicking. The data on the disk is crucial for me...

Good evening, Rest assured: whatever the issue, it won't affect the hard drive. In this case, it could be due to the processor-memory-RAM trio. Open the case after unplugging it, and keep only one stick of RAM. Plug it back in and start it. Do the same with all the sticks to see if one of them is defective. My neighbor is an IT specialist, or something like that. Funny how we don't know our neighbors...  He thinks it's a power supply that's become too weak, just fatigue in a way...  Classic, he says...  He took it apart and will test it.  I talked to him about your ideas, he says yes too, but first, he wants to check the power supply.  Weird, but why not...?

A little twist, he tested the power supply, it seems to be okay.  He put it back together, and we tested it. Nothing during three tries. The fan was running on its own, and we had to cut the power for it to turn off.  On the 4th try, the power button light came on, and after a while, we heard the beep, and it started up again.  We tried to shut down and restart several times in a row, everything returned to normal. For how long..... ?  I should mention that in the meantime, I had cleaned the coolers present on the motherboard. The one for the CPU was quite "snuggly."

The breakdown has come back.  I don't understand anything anymore...  The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8TRC410MNF-RH.  I guess it's not available anymore?  And who knows if that's the problem...

After testing the memory sticks, redo all the thermal pads (processor, chipset, graphics card). A little trick to try: remove the BIOS battery (the round chrome CR2032), put it back, and then restart.

Here we go again, two days later, I got several electric shocks, and I heard the characteristic beeps when you plug or unplug a device several times for no reason.  Then it went into sleep mode by itself, and since then, total blackout!
