Black screen and fan running at full speed Solved

Question

Hello,a friend just handed me his computer because he has a big problem. Indeed, the screen stays in standby (as if nothing was connected to it) and the computer's fan is running at full speed, that's all you can hear. By the way, I noticed that the hard drive isn't starting up (it makes absolutely no noise), so I'm coming to seek your help. I did a clear CMOS just to check, but I can't see where the problem might come from except that I think it's hardware-related.Thanks in advance

Oh no, if I had one on hand, I would have tested it, but honestly, I have nothing right now. For more clarity, if it helps you, when I turn on the computer, it seems that only the power supply fan and the computer fan are running... the screen remains off, the hard drive does not respond...

The computer that's running.??? Which one?? The one behind the PC?? And the one in front of the processor?? IS IT RUNNING?? If you don't know, open the PC on the left side and take a look.

Yes, both fans are running, the one for the power supply and the one for the processor; I had already opened it and both fans are running, although one of them is spinning very quickly because it is unusually noisy.

If worse comes to worst, just place your hand on it and you’ll feel it.
Also check all the connections.
Remove the power cord (for safety) and press on all the sides you see.
Also, check if the video card is properly inserted.

I don't know if this is still an ongoing discussion, but for your information, I had the same problem with my Packard Bell computer: totally black screen, no keyboard detection, a slight click from the HDD as if it wanted to start, and the fan running at full speed: I just came back from the repair shop: the motherboard is fried. Be careful, they put a new board in for me, now it works but the fan still runs at full speed instead of slowing down. After checking, it's because the new motherboard doesn't manage the fan slowdown!

Hi!
I had the same problem as you before, I was told that you actually need to keep the computer plugged in for a certain amount of time (probably an issue with the small round battery). I left it for 30 minutes.
And boom! It worked!
So there you go, hopefully this can help some people.
