Hello,

as indicated by the title, I built a new config, my problem is that the keyboard is not detected either in USB or in PS/2 at startup.

I cannot access the BIOS to finalize my installation, the MOBO emits a short beep at startup, which according to the manual indicates that it is not detected.

I tried with 4 different keyboards :) 2 PS/2 and 2 USB, no changes, I plugged the keyboard into the purple port, the connector fits all the way in. The keyboard itself does light up, though.

I also did a “clear CMOS” although that seems pointless to me since the motherboard is new,
I don’t see what more I can do since this is the first time I’ve encountered this problem.

Other threads on similar topics are often very old and unanswered, so I’m reviving this one. (I’ve noticed that a lot of people with Asus motherboards had this problem).

Accidentally my config if it might help.

ASUS motherboard M4N98TD EVO
processor: AMD Phenom II 950 Black Edition
RAM Corsair XMS3 2x 4GB
graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
power supply Corsair 750W modular 80+ Gold

Best regards.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

    Hello...

The beep at the start, that’s the cm and bios “health”... not the absence of a keyboard...
Regarding the PS/2, you’ve marked THEM AS MACHINE STOPPED, because you can’t plug them in “hot”...?!
    Regards,
    see you
