HP desktop PC stuck on the startup screen

Hello, I have the exact same problem. My PC is an HP Pavilion Elite m9165.fr.
Nothing is responding; if I click on F10 (configuration), F11 (system re-installation), Escape (boot menu), or F9 (diagnostics) right after turning it on, the screen stays stuck on loading those options.

I opened the PC, cleaned every part of it thinking that dust was the issue, but nothing happens... If someone knows about computers, help please!!!

Press the power button and hold it down until the computer completely shuts down.
Turn on the computer. Immediately and repeatedly press the Escape key, about once per second, until the boot menu appears.
Press the F2 key. The System Diagnostics screen appears.
Click on systems test
click on extensive test
after that I don't remember exactly, but basically you need to click on the first button which means to run the test once and then leave the PC on for 4 hours on mains power with the battery connected as well and let the test finish.

The only solution I've found so far for the same problem is to start your computer by pressing the F10 key. At the end of the line, a minimal screen appears; you erase that and type OPTIMAL in uppercase. Be careful, the keyboard letters may be reversed, so use the English keyboard. For example, to type M, you need to press the key for A, and for A, press Q; the rest should be fine. Then hit enter, and the computer should start up normally, giving you access to your information. It works for me like this for now. Let me know if it works for you. Thank you.

I confirm the responses given regarding the faulty hard drives..
Stuck on the welcome screen (even if pressing F10 it remains stuck, so no access to the BIOS) => by disconnecting the hard drive, we can access it without any problem.

The Seagate Barracuda 500 GB drives, series 7200-11 and 7200-12, with reference ST3320813AS, ST3500620AS, ST3750630AS, or ST31000340AS are "buggy".

Either the PC is still under warranty and HP will replace it for you, or it is not and you will need to purchase a new hard drive and consult a specialist if you really want to recover your data...

Then, we can only hope that you created the recovery DVDs (as requested!) to be able to reinstall your system provided with the PC...

If you haven't, you will find a link on the HP site to order them for around 40 Euros, with no guarantee that you will be able to use them (possible issue due to the firmware of the DVD drive not always recognizing the DVDs they send!).

In case your issue is not resolved.
We managed to solve the issue as follows:

- start the PC, it is stuck on the blue "HP" page
- unplug one component (mouse, keyboard, speakers, ...) once the component is unplugged, check if it works,
- if it still doesn’t work, repeat with the next component, ...

Actually, the HP PC is waiting for responses from all these components to start the BIOS + Windows, so if one of these components doesn't send that response, it remains stuck waiting...

Well, for us it was the sound, and on the forum, for the person concerned it was the keyboard.
