Open File - Security Warning Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,  For the past few days, I have been getting a window that appears every time I try to open an .exe application  Here is the window in question: https://imageshack.com/  This mainly appears for applications or games that require internet access (Opera, World of Warcraft, Trackmania, etc...)  I've tried several tips I found online but so far none have worked.  If anyone has an effective solution, I thank you in advance :)

Hello,

I had the same issue and despite the solutions found on various forums, I couldn't get rid of the "security warning" message.
While tinkering, I found a solution: I right-clicked on the shortcut > properties > shortcuts tab > advanced > then checked the box to Run as administrator.
And it works!!!! Hoping this can help someone...

It's one of the famous solutions I've already tried and that didn't work...

"Internet Options/Security/Local Intranet/Customize level and enable the option "Launching applications and unsafe files" " >> Already enabled

"Internet Options/Security/Local Intranet/Sites/Advanced and add the server address (e.g., //server)" >> I don't see what to add to allow the execution of applications on my PC without getting this message...

Thanks anyway for your reply... I'm losing hope with this problem.

Here we go, by tinkering around I managed to fix my problem, if it can help someone.

You just need to delete the corresponding shortcuts on the desktop (for me, Opera and World of Warcraft) and recreate them.

For now it works, hope it lasts.

Internet Properties > Security > Trusted Sites > Customize Level > Starting applications and unsafe files  Then  Internet Properties > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites > Add the server's IP address

Hello,
First level of difficulty: I had the same problem with shortcuts that I created by "dragging and dropping with the mouse + ctrl". By creating the shortcuts using "right-click\send\to desktop (create a shortcut)" and then moving those shortcuts to where I want them, I no longer have the problem.
Second level: as soon as I modify the shortcut, I get the annoying question "Do you want to open this file?". However, I need to add parameters to certain shortcuts (for example: 'command toto.exe "file_name.xxx"'),
so how can I create such a shortcut with parameters without having to answer the question every time I launch the program?

I was experiencing the same issue with the Internet Explorer and Google Chrome shortcuts that I had on my desktop.

I managed to work around the problem by using the Internet Explorer and Google Chrome shortcuts that were in the Start Menu and I moved them directly to the desktop. Note that I mentioned moving them and not creating new shortcuts. These shortcuts no longer give me security warnings. I then copied these shortcuts back into the Start Menu.

The problem can be resolved very easily. You simply need to right-click on the file (the *.exe, not the shortcut). Then go to properties and click on "Unblock." Once this operation is completed, you will no longer see the "File Open - Security Warning" window!
