Unable to open a shortcut file

Hello,

I had files on a USB stick that I transferred to "my documents" which turned into shortcuts. I didn't realize it right away and deleted them from my USB. I can't open them in my documents. Please give me a tip.

      You need to copy the files to the source and not their shortcuts.

      Format the key and try to copy the source files again.

    Pour ouvrir un fichier en raccourci, vous pouvez généralement faire un clic droit sur le fichier ou le raccourci, puis sélectionner "Ouvrir". Si vous utilisez un raccourci sur votre bureau, un double-clic sur l'icône suffira également.

    If the files are deleted from the drive, the shortcuts are useless.
    Recovering deleted files is another story...

      Hi, I know that this message is very old, but maybe my solution can help others who have similar cases. All you need to do is install "recuva.exe" on your machine and start the recovery. Thanks from Kolimal in Guinea.

    If I understood correctly, you're trying to open a file that no longer exists using a shortcut? That's going to be tough!
    You need to recover your files... not shortcuts!
