Hello,
I apologize if this question has already been asked on the site; to be honest, I can't find my way around. I'm a beginner, so thank you for your patience :-)
I received a gedcom file that contains my genealogy. What I would like is to be able to convert it into a simple table in Excel (or Word). I used FlashList and OxyGene, but it doesn't give me what I want; the table is not readable.
I hope you can help me. Thank you.
Stéphanie

Hello,
A GEDCOM (.ged) file is a text file. To open it with Excel, select "All Files (*.*)" and then search for your file in your directory.
Then click on "Open" and choose the "Delimited" option, then "Tab" as the separator.
That's it.

Hello, Stéphanie.
"I received a gedcom file that contains my family tree. What I would like is to be able to convert it into a simple table in Excel (or Word)."
IMPOSSIBLE.
It's exactly like trying to convert a music file into an Excel table.
If you requested a family tree, you are supposed to have genealogy software, right?
On http://www.francogene.com/internet/gedcom.php it is stated, among other things, "There are some free or trial-based software available. If the need is to "read a GEDCOM file as soon as possible", you just need to install, for example, PAF, Brothers Keeper, or Cumberland Tree."
