    Hello,
the zip is a compression format, not a music format, it can contain all sorts of things.
You need to decompress it first, if it's a zip, you right-click, extract here and that's it.

In MP3 format or compressed in a ZIP file, the same file always takes up the same space.

      Is this normal?

      Thank you.

        Hi!

I'm not an expert at all, but I assume that since mp3 files have already undergone compression inherent to their nature, another compression doesn't add anything. It's generally used to group files rather than anything else.

        Google comes to the rescue:
Pictures in popular formats such as .jpg or .gif are already compressed. As are .mp3 audio files. As are all popular movie formats. Depending on the type of compression being used, compressing an already-compressed file at best does very little, and at worst makes the file bigger.

So there's typically no advantage to ZIPping a photo, a movie, or an MP3.

        Source.

In short, it's normal and it's useless to compress mp3s, except to reduce the bitrate, thus manipulating the compression inherent to the format, which reduces quality.
